The emotions of the BLAST Premier American Showdown 2023 continue, and the second Quarterfinals match left us with a 2-1 victory for Team Liquid against Forsaken.

As a result, Team Liquid fulfilled their status as favorites in this first match, while Forsaken says goodbye to their chances of fighting for a place in the Fall Finals 2023.

There is no doubt that this was the result expected by everyone because there is no doubt that, although Team Liquid is playing with Damian “Daps” Steele instead of Aleks “Rainwaker” Petrov, the team has much more competitive experience and, above all, experience. On the other hand, there is also the fact that Team Liquid needs to give good results at this point of the season, as the CS2 era is very close to starting.

Let’s see what happened in the series between Team Liquid and Forsaken in the Quarterfinals of BLAST Premier: American Showdown 2023.

Team Liquid beat Forsaken by 2-1

In the second NA match of these qualifiers for the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2023, we enjoyed an excellent victory of Team Liquid by 2-1 against Forsaken. Likewise, it is fair to mention that Liquid suffered a bit to win. However, this is also to be expected at this point in the season, as all teams should be at their best.

The series took place in Inferno, Mirage, and Overpass.

Inferno

It all started at Inferno, Forsaken’s map pick, where Team Liquid started extremely well on their T Side, putting definitive numbers to the match.

Team Liquid relied on excellent teamwork in the first half to take an excellent partial victory by 11-4. Then, at the change of sides, the now international squad of Liquid and Forsaken had a give-and-take match for 9 rounds. However, this completely favored Liquid, who won 16-8.

Mirage

The tables were turned on Mirage, Team Liquid’s map pick, as Forsaken fought to send the match into Overtime and eventually take the win. As a result, the Americans evened the series 1-1 and forced the third or final map.

In the first half, Forsaken stood up in defense in an extraordinary way to take an excellent partial victory by 9-6. Then, at the change of sides, Team Liquid woke up to hit back and, thanks to a very good performance by Keith “NAF” Markovic and Robert “Patsi” Isyanov, the team managed to even the score at 15-15 to send the map to Overtime.

In the end, Team Liquid won 4 of the 6 rounds played in OT to seal their 19-17 victory.

Overpass

Finally, on the last map, Overpass, things returned to “normal” as Team Liquid pulled out all the stops and reaffirmed their tag as favorites to win.

In the first half, Forsaken surprised Liquid with a great defense to take a narrow 8-7 victory. However, at the change of sides, Liquid’s defense was impenetrable for Forsaken, and after 10 rounds (9-1), they took an excellent 16-10 victory. As a result, Team Liquid advances to the tournament’s semifinals, where they will face Party Astronauts, who are coming off a win over Imperial Esports.
