T1 to launch T1 Base Camp esports complex in Seoul

One of the most popular esports organizations in the world, and certainly the most followed in South Korea, is launching T1 Base Camp, an esports cultural complex in Hongdae, Seoul.

While T1 is known for being world champions in League of Legends in 2013, 2015, and 2016, the organization also has other divisions, which they want to place at the top.

T1 announces the launch of T1 Base Camp

The popular South Korean organization, T1, announced that starting May 13, 2023, they will open a new esports cultural complex called T1 Base Camp. This complex will be located in the Hongdae district of the country’s capital, Seoul.

The area selected for this T1 Base Camp is perfect, as it is famous for having a youthful atmosphere and is full of clubs, stores, and entertainment venues.

In short, the T1 Base Camp is a cyber cafe where anyone can play their favorite video games on high-performance computers. However, unlike the rest of the usual PC bangs, the T1 Base Camp will have an area to sell the organization’s items. It will also have a special room for different esports experiences.

As we can see in the image, the site is set in the organization’s colors, i.e., red, black, and white. In addition, it has different images of professional players such as Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, Choi “Zeus” Woo-je, and the rest of the League of Legends squad.

On the other hand, it will also feature a store where consoles, console games, and many more licensed products can be purchased.

Esports area

The esports area mentioned above will be in charge of broadcasting all the official T1 matches on all the big screens in the venue. In addition, different events will also be organized to bring fans a little closer to their favorite team.

However, what is most striking about this new T1 Base Camp is that it will offer players with a special talent to join the organization. This is intended to be done with the help of coaches from the T1 Esports Academy, who will visit the camp to observe the potential of some players. As a result, players who have innate talent will be eligible for selection to the organization’s junior divisions.

Josh Ahn, T1’s chief operating officer, said:
