Worlds 2023 continues in full swing, and all the participating teams are giving their all in the tournament to take the important victories and advance to the playoffs.

We only have two teams in the playoffs, JD Gaming and Gen.G Esports, the LPL and LCK champions, respectively. However, there is a champion that is very close to achieving it, and there is no doubt that we would love to see them in the definitive phase.

We are talking about T1, one of the most popular LoL teams in the world, which seems to have regained confidence in this tournament, and right now, they are showing their best level.

T1 shows their best level on Day 4 of the Swiss Stage of Worlds 2023

We have undoubtedly enjoyed an amazing tournament, with some surprises and some completely expected results. However, one team has gone from bad to better in the tournament and is currently very close to qualifying for the playoffs, T1.

T1 had a “perfect game” in their Round 3 match against Cloud9 and pulled off a resounding victory in 22:25 minutes, putting them just one win away from sealing their qualification. The team that has managed to lift the World Champion trophy three times regained the “smile” thanks to an excellent performance by Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun and Ryu “Keria” Min-seok.

T1’s perfect match

While it is true that Cloud9 was expected to have a little more resistance, T1 counted on their best weapon, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, to lead them to victory in this match.

And the fact is, the team had everything going for them: the drafting of champions was great, the players were at their best level of play, and, above all, they reduced all hopes that Cloud9 could have a good match. Also, it’s worth mentioning that T1 didn’t give up a single kill on the entire map, meaning they dominated Summoner’s Rift at leisure.

Speaking of Cloud9, we can only point out that the LCS team could only take two Towers, as T1 stood their ground and ensured that C9 didn’t have any chances.

T1 are one step away from the playoffs

Thanks to T1’s victory, the team has a 2-1 record in the Swiss Stage of Worlds 2023, so they are only 1 win away from sealing their ticket to the playoffs. In addition, the team’s next match is played in BO3 format, so they will have more chances to win.

For now, neither the date nor the opponent of this BO3 that T1 will have to play is known. However, what we do know is that the match will be on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, and their possible opponents are:

  • LNG Esports
  • G2 Esports
  • NRG
  • Bilibili Gaming
  • KT Rolster

On the other hand, if T1 loses this BO3, it does not mean that their journey in Worlds 2023 is over, as they would have one last chance in the Decider Match between teams with a 2-2 record.
