Monte did well at the ESL Challenger Jönköping 2023, as did MIBR. 3DMAX is the first team to leave the tournament after two losses.

The ESL Challenger Jönköping is an esports tournament organized by the Electronic Sports League (ESL). The tournament usually takes place in Jönköping, Sweden, and offers aspiring CS players and teams the opportunity to compete. The first day of the ESL Challenger Jönköping has now come to an end and we have the results for you. Here is an overview of the matches:

Monte and MIBR advance to the playoffs

The opening day of the ESL Challenger in Jönköping featured a number of high-caliber matches, although the results were no big surprise for most of the viewers and analysts.

Eight CS teams have completed the first day in Sweden and Monte and MIBR have entered the playoffs. 3DMAX has been eliminated from the tournament after two defeats. As a result, the field of participants has been reduced from eight to seven teams, and only Monte, MIBR, Virtus.pro, TYLOO, the Nouns, Eternal Fire and GamerLegion are still part of the event. These teams still have the chance to win the 100,000 dollar prize pool.

The highlight of the first day was MIBR’s match against Virtus.pro, a best-of-one game with four overtimes. Brazil’s MIBR dominated the action and therefore progressed. The lineup had qualified for the BetBoom Dacha earlier in the week and was able to take this momentum and motivation directly into the game to defeat Virtus.pro.

The Group A matches were more straightforward, as Monte clearly beat TYLOO and then Nouns. The first day was dominated by Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev with a fantastic rating of 1.62. Also worth mentioning is the performance of Sergiy “DemQQ” Demchenko, who received a rating of 1.44 for the day.

3DMAX is eliminated

3DMAX was the team that lost out on the first day of the event and was sent home after two losses. It was the first LAN of the year for the French lineup and it didn’t go very gloriously. They first lost to Virtus.pro and then to GamerLegion and could only finish last in their group.

The ESL Challenger Jönköping continues today, Saturday, November 25, 2023, and spectators will get to see the match between the Turkish super team Eternal Fire vs TYLOO.

The event continues until tomorrow, Sunday, November 26, 2023 and the winning team will take home half of the 100,000 dollar prize pool, i.e. a full 50,000 dollars.
