The CCT Central Europe Malta Finals continues its course, and we are on the final day of the first tournament of the CCT circuit held in the LAN environment. Of the eight participating teams, only three are still alive, and one of them will say goodbye in the next few hours when the Lower Bracket final between Eternal Fire and ENCE takes place.

Speaking of ENCE, we cannot overlook that the “law of the ex has marked the Lower Bracket semifinals of this CCT Central Europe Malta Finals.” Yes, the law of the ex, because Álvaro “SunPayus” García, former Movistar Riders player, was one of the pillars of ENCE in its victory over the Spanish team.

Movistar Riders’ path at the CCT Central Europe Malta Finals

Movistar Riders’ road to the CCT Central Europe Malta Finals has ended after their former player, SunPayus, was one of their main defeats in the Lower Bracket semifinals. And it was not the first time in the tournament that this has happened, as in the group stage, they also failed against ENCE, which cost them elimination from the tournament.

The Spanish team began its journey in this CCT in Malta with an 11-16 defeat against ENCE in the Group Phase. That is why the Spanish team faced the Lower Bracket match with a lot of determination to take revenge and eliminate a strong team like ENCE. However, before this match, Movistar Riders managed to qualify for the playoffs after a great 2-0 victory against Sprout and 2-1 against Team Spirit.

Movistar Riders endured a crushing 0-2 defeat in the playoffs against Bad New Eagles, which sent them to the Lower Bracket.

Movistar Riders vs. ENCE – Recap

ENCE started strong in the Lower Bracket semifinal match. Movistar chose inferno as the first map, but ENCE overcame them with an excellent and close score of 14-16.

The second map was a real madness on the part of Movistar Riders, as it returned the favor to the Finnish squad. Mirage, selected by ENCE, was a master class by the Spaniards who managed to take the victory with a powerful 16-4 to send the series to the third game.

Finally, ENCE stepped up again on Nuke, the decisive map, to take a comfortable 16-7 victory, with a spectacular T-side for Pavle “Maden” Boskovic.

The Spanish squad is not in a good momentum

Movistar Riders have had a week to forget. There is no doubt about that. After running out of options to qualify for the next BLAS.tv Paris Major 2023, they were eliminated in the CCT Central Europe Malta Finals.

Remember that Movistar Riders will play the ESL Pro League S17 next March. However, before that, they will have to play on February 28 against Bad New Eagles in the ESL Challenger League S44. In addition, the first match of the “riders” in the ESL Pro League S17 will be against the dreaded and dangerous Heroic.
