Smash Ultimate pros MkLeo and Tweek find home with Luminosity

Two of the best players in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Leonardo “MkLeo” Lopez Perez and Gavin “Tweek” Dempsey, will be playing under the same banner for the first time in their careers at Luminosity Gaming for this 2023 season.

While the organization boasts that they are the best Smash team ever, they are correct, as both players are considered the best.

Luminosity Gaming announces the signing of MkLeo and Tweek

On March 23, Luminosity Gaming announced the signing of MkLeo and Tweek as part of their Smash Ultimate lineup for 2023.

This announcement comes after, a few weeks ago, both MkLeo and Tweek were released by their respective organizations. Speaking of MkLeo, we can note that T1 announced his release on February 23, while five days later, TSM did the same with Tweek.

This undoubtedly came as a big shock to the Smash community, as no one expected two of the best players to be released simultaneously.

On yesterday’s Ultimate Summit 6 live stream, Tweek mentioned that he is very happy with this signing and alluded to an example in the NBA basketball world. Additionally, Tweek said he felt like Lebron was returning to the Heat.

Great historical rivalry between MkLeo and Tweek

It’s not for nothing that this pair of players are considered among the best in the world and in the history of Smash Ultimate. In addition, they have created a historic rivalry within the competitive scene of this video game, so much so that they have a record of 11-8, which favors, as we see, closely to MkLeo.
