One of the most popular and powerful assault rifles available in Modern Warfare 2, the Kastov 762, has been banned from the Call of Duty League and has also been banned from MWII’s Ranked Mode.

Undoubtedly, with a given attachment configuration, this assault rifle became a killing machine in both CDL and multiplayer modes. As a result, they have decided to remove it from the weapon rotation, and now it joins the (huge) list of weapons that cannot be used in this mode or the CDL.

Kastov 762 banned from the CDL and Ranked Mode of MW2

The Ranked mode of Modern Warfare 2 is played almost the same way as the pros do in tournaments at the highest level in the CDL. This means you can only use some weapons and accessories the developers have previously approved.

A day after Major III ended in Arlington, Texas, where Toronto Ultra took the championship trophy, the CDL announced that the Kastov 762 goes on the blacklist of weapons that are not allowed. In addition, it was also announced that the weapon tuning system has been banned.

The ban on weapon tuning means that players in the CDL and Ranked mode can no longer perfectly tune their weapons as they have always done. This measure could be to the liking of many players because, from now on, the advantages concerning the weapons will be very few. As a result, everything will be based on the player’s skills but not on the configuration they have in their weapons.

Ranked Mode in MW2

After the highly requested Ranked Mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, players have demonstrated all their skills within the servers in spectacular combats.

In this game mode, players feel like they are in the CDL, playing with the same rules, weapons, and maps. The only thing that changes is the players’ abilities in each game. However, it should be noted that the so-called “gentleman’s agreement” between players and teams in the CDL is not covered in this mode.

With this ban, players fond of Kastov 762 will have to switch to another AR. There is no doubt about that. On the other hand, one of the recommendations we can give you is to start using the TAQ-56, as this is the most used AR by CDL players.

It may surprise many that the developers decided to ban the weapon from MWII Ranked Mode, but everything is logical if we see the incredible popularity of the mode. Players want to feel part of the top competitive scene, and this mode is as close as they will get, so playing under the same conditions as the pros are ideal.

With the inclusion of Kastov 762, there are now five ARs that the CDL bans.
