After so much waiting from the fans and the teams themselves, the first week of the LEC Spring Split 2023 is history in the blink of an eye. After three intense days, SK Gaming and Team Vitality had a perfect weekend and led the standings with a 3-0 record.

This important League of Legends tournament is off to a great start, and after a weekend full of high-quality matches, the top teams have already been identified. However, on the opposite side of the coin, we have Team Heretics and Fnatic; once again, the orange outfit is in the pit of the table with a 0-3 record after this first week of competition.

SK Gaming reaffirms its great level by beating Astralis

On the last day of the first week of the LEC, it felt as if we now knew one of the competition’s leaders. SK Gaming’s win over Astralis caps off a perfect week for the Germans. SK is at a spectacular level of play at the start of the Spring and sits as the leader of the LEC with an overall record of 3-0. A clear assessment of SK Gaming that worked through Mark “Markoon” van Woensel’s Lee Sin against a not-very-bright Astralis.

Markoon displayed remarkable skill in SK’s victory, demonstrating his mastery of the game with 13 kills and no kills. He was the driving force behind their success, ending Astralis’ winning streak and giving SK a victory that put them with the perfect 3-0 record.

Team Heretics closes the week at 0-3

Team Heretics ended the opening week of the LEC with three losses, leaving a bitter taste for all involved. The final nail in the coffin was Team BDS getting their first win against Heretics.

Despite having numerous doubts and concerns, Team BDS took the victory. Team Heretics was defeated by the Swiss squad, who used an unconventional strategy. BDS deliberately sacrificed Adam “Adam” Maanane Sion’s line to help Juš “Crownie” Marušič. The shooter was the key player of the match and was able to make quick decisions to reach the three objects very early. Although the execution of the plans was not perfect, Team BDS was able to win the battles and gain a significant victory that earned them recognition and the first of the Spring Split.

MAD Lions beats KOI on Elyoya’s Birthday

For two reasons, Javier “Elyoya” Prades would be the match’s star. First, Elyoya had a birthday last Sunday and managed to lead his team to the first victory in this Spring LEC. The Spanish jungler came out on fire to inspire his team and tore KOI apart.

Elyoya got the best out of MAD Lions in this match, especially Matyá “Carzzy” Orság, who initiated the frontline fights with his Zeri. As a result of this match, both KOI and MAD Lions finish the first week with a 1-2 record.

G2 Esports bounces back and crushes Excel

G2 reacted quickly, and after losing to Astralis in the second week of LEC, G2 brought out all their strength to regain their honor. EXCEL Esports was the victim, and G2 secured its second victory, reaffirming its dominance. The winter champions refuse to waver and consider the poor performance against Astralis as nothing more than a minor setback.

When the moment calls for it, G2 Esports says present, and this time with its most potent weapon, Steven “Hans Sama” Liv’s Draven. Hand in hand with the French shooter’s flagship selection, the samurai are again on the road to victory. Furthermore, a wholly outclassed EXCEL could do nothing.

Team Vitality delivers third blow to Fnatic

Undoubtedly, this was one of the most anticipated matches by all LEC fans. Team Vitality and Fnatic gave us a fascinating match to close week 1 of the LEC Spring Split 2023.

Team Vitality crushed Fnatic in a match with no orange in Summoner’s Rift. But, we must highlight the great game of Elias “Upset” Lipp, who was wholly motivated in this match against his former team.

Upset took care of crushing Fnatic in this match and thus took a little revenge, whatever we want to call it, as the player left the orange team with some issues to resolve. So now, with 3-0, Vitality shares the top of the table with SK Gaming, while Fnatic shares the pit with Team Heretics.
