There is no doubt that the return of the game’s legends is extraordinary news for the competitive scene and the fans, as they will be able to see some of their favorite players again with the arrival of Counter-Strike 2.

One of these legends returning to the Counter-Strike competitive scene is Epitácio “TACO” de Melo, who announced his intentions to return to compete at the highest level just hours before the release of CS2.

TACO announces his return to the Counter-Strike competitive scene

Through a post on its Twitter account, TACO announced its imminent return to the competitive Counter-Strike scene now that the new CS2 era is about to begin.

As we can see, the two-time Major winner in CS:GO is fully ready to reconnect on the servers of the CS2 competitive scene. We can never forget that TACO was part of that Brazilian lineup that dominated the CS:GO competitive scene 2016 with Luminosity Gaming and SK Gaming. Moreover, according to the Brazilian, he is more than ready to make history again.

Similarly, TACO has not given any hints or information regarding the team he will join. However, the South American and Brazilian Counter-Strike scene is going through a very dark time. As a result, TACO’s experience and skills can be a valuable asset in any of these teams.

On the other hand, remember that TACO was part of 00Nation before the organization jumped the pond and established itself on the European continent. However, in March 2023, the team sent him to the bench, where he remained for 7 months until his departure.

About TACO

As mentioned, the former support of 00Nation, MIBR, Luminosity, SK Gaming, and many more teams has an impressive track record in the Counter-Strike competitive scene. In addition to winning 2 Majors, he lifted multiple top-level trophies and accumulated almost $1,100,000 in prize money as of today.

On the other hand, his return to the competitive scene may be very soon, as CS2 will most likely be released today, September 27, 2023.

However, there is still no official confirmation, and as Valve does things, we won’t have it until launch time, either. So, the best thing to do is to keep an eye on social networks to learn first-hand about the imminent release of CS2.

Finally, it’s also fair to mention that TACO isn’t the only legend returning to the competitive scene. Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg and Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth also showed their desire to return to compete at the highest level.
