Following much speculation, it is Jonathan “Silenx” Huntington who has been announced as the substitute for Nick “Nitr0” Cannella. The 100 thieves VALORANT star is on parental leave at present, with Silenx set to join as a stand-in during this time. Wit the VALORANT Champions Tour qualifying round beginning this week, 100 Thieves had to move quickly to find a suitable replacement.

100 Thieves is one of 127 teams hoping to reach the closet qualifier stage of the event, however the absence of Nitr0 will undoubtedly make this more difficult. The American was one of the standout players in helping 100 Thieves win the First Strike North America tournament, with the organization having since been named the best team in the region.

Why Silenx Was Chosen by 100 Thieves

While the Champions Tour events will operate in a similar manner to First Strike, rather than closed qualifiers, Challengers, Masters and Champions events will take place instead. Each will ultimately determine which teams compete in the next stage and who is eliminated. The tournament will see Silenx make his debut.

American Huntington has competed under the banner of amateur teams including the Pittsburgh Knights, Overtime Gaming, Shironeko, Sakura Storm and HIA Money Crew. While such teams have now set to scene alight with their performances, it has been a good platform for Silenx to build his reputation. While some will be surprised to learn of Silenx’s arrival at 100 Thieves, the organization clearly believe that he has the talent required to step up.

When Can We Expect to See Silenx In Action for 100 His New Team?

Silenx’s debut for the team will come at the VALORANT Champions Tour qualifiers this week, with many waiting patiently to see whether he can make the jump from minor B/C tier events. 100Thieves defeated TSM 3-1 to win the First Strike event, however it has been a disappointing run of results since then. The organization has been absent from a number of recent events, including the Nerd Street Gamers Winter Championship. However, this is most likely due to the team taking time to work on strategy and complete its roster.
