After solid rumors in recent weeks, everything is 100% confirmed, as the Version1 squad, considered by many as the best in the VALORANT Game Changers scene, parted ways with the organization to sign with Shopify Rebellion.
This is excellent news, especially since it came at this point in the season where the VALORANT Game Changers Championship 2023 is only 2 weeks away. Likewise, this only confirms all the rumors that have been coming out lately, and there is no doubt that Shopify Rebellion now has the best female VALORANT squad in the world.
Shopify Rebellion Signs Version1 Template
Through a post on its official Twitter/X account, Shopify Rebellion announced the signing of VALORANT Game Changers’ Version1 lineup.

As we mentioned, the former Version1 players are considered the best female VALORANT squad in NA and, for many, worldwide. As a result, Shopify Rebellion has made a historic move for the organization. Now, the new Shopify Rebellion squad consists of the following players:
- Ava “florescent” Eugene
- Melanie “meL” Capone
- Nicole “Noia” Tierce
- Sarah Simpson
- Alexis “alexis” Guarrasi
- Loic “effys” Sauvageau – Head Coach
On the other hand, this move comes after the organization decided to exit its entire VALORANT women’s squad on October 26, 2023. Remember that this team played the Grand Final of the VALORANT GC Championship 2022, where they lost to the girls of G2 Gozen by 2-3.
Version1 and G2 Esports – An imminent merger?
Right now, the rumor is stronger than ever that Version1 and G2 Esports will merge completely. Many well-known esports journalists have expressed that this pair of organizations have been in talks to seal this merger since mid-May 2023.
In addition, Version1 also announced at the time (in April 2023) that it was looking to partner with another organization to try to solve the economic problems plaguing the org. Likewise, Version1’s CEO Brett Diamond declined to elaborate on the matter.
Suppose the merger between V1 and G2 Esports is confirmed. In that case, there is no doubt that we would be facing a great organization that would have an excellent team of female VALORANT (currently G2 Gozen), and, in addition, they will be present in the VCT Americas League 2024. On the other hand, remember that G2 Esports also plays in the LEC, and V1 owns the Minnesota RØKKR franchise in the Call of Duty League. Finally, we cannot forget G2’s most recognized teams, Counter-Strike 2 and Rainbow Six Siege.
