The days go by, and we already know two more teams that will be present in the first big tournament of the second half of 2023, the IEM Cologne 2023, and we are talking about G2 Esports and Team Vitality. Two of the best CS:GO teams in the world got their ticket to the tournament’s next stage and are much closer to glory.

Team Vitality destroyed the aspirations of MOUZ since it was not only the final score of 2-0, but both matches were a real beating. On the other hand, G2 Esports defeated FaZe Clan very convincingly, so the team will be present in the playoffs.

Likewise, both teams will have to meet in the Group B Final to determine the final positions of the Group since their first match in the playoffs depends on it.

Let’s see what happened in the G2 Esports and Team Vitality victories on the previous day of Group B of IEM Cologne 2023.

Team Vitality destroy MOUZ by 2-0

The reigning Paris Major champions, Team Vitality, scored a 2-0 victory over MOUZ to seal their ticket to the tournament playoffs. However, it is fair to point out that Vitality was infinitely superior to MOUZ, as the latter could not make more than five rounds in any of the two maps.

It all started in Inferno, the map pick of MOUZ, where Team Vitality began to show all its strength in the first half itself. Led by Emil “Magisk” Reif and Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, the Paris Major champions managed to avoid MOUZ’s offensives and take a 12-3 partial victory. Then, at the change of sides, Team Vitality continued their excellent pace of play and took a solid 16-4 victory.

In the second map, Mirage, the tone did not change, as Team Vitality started the same way they played Inferno, overwhelming MOUZ. In the first half, the French squad scored a 13-2 partial victory on their T-side. As a result, the team was only three rounds away from victory, and they finally pulled it off to win 16-5 and seal their ticket to the playoffs.

G2 Esports apply a clean sweep against FaZe Clan

One of the most interesting matches we can currently have in the competitive CS:GO scene, G2 vs. FaZe, left us with many emotions from start to finish. However, there is no doubt that G2 is in better form than FaZe Clan this season, and, as a result, they applied a clean sweep to qualify for the IEM Cologne 2023 playoffs.

The series started at Inferno, G2’s map pick, where Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač continued in their Prime, as they took it upon themselves to lead G2 to a comfortable 11-4 first-half partial victory. However, it doesn’t end there, as, FaZe couldn’t even win a round at the change of sides, and they ended up falling by 16-4.

Then, on the second map, Ancient, things changed a bit, as FaZe was able to put up much more of a fight, but the outcome of the match was the same, a comfortable win for G2. In the first half, Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov and huNter- avoided FaZe’s offensives to lead their team to a comfortable 10-5 partial victory. Then, at the change of sides, FaZe Clan tried to wake up by winning up to seven rounds, but this was not enough, as G2 closed the map with a 16-12 victory.
