Sentinels post bail, and SicK is released from jail

The novel of Hunter “SicK” Mims, a VALORANT player from the North American Sentinels organization, has ended. The player has been released from jail after the team posted $5,000 bail.

The player spent just over 11 days in custody at a local jail in Texas. He was charged with breaking at a Ferrari car dealership last March 4, 2023. According to a video posted by SicK (later removed), the player got into an altercation with one of the site’s employees. The police had to intervene to control the situation.

Sentinels bails Sick out of jail

After almost 12 days in a Collin County, Texas jail, Sentinels player Hunter “SicK” Mims was released after the organization paid his $5,000 bail. In addition to that, Sentinels also covers his sister’s trip to be with the player in this difficult moment he is living.

This only confirms the organization’s commitment to its players. Let’s remember that Rob Moore, the Sentinels CEO, said they would support their players regardless of their situation.

As we mentioned, SicK was in jail for a problem he caused at a luxury car brand Ferrari dealership. Sentinels also helped get his family relocated to Dallas to help facilitate his release.

The player is suspended from the organization and must meet some requirements to return to the servers. Similarly, it is worth noting that SicK is one of the longest-serving players on the Sentinels roster, having been with the team since the launch of VALORANT in 2020. Recall that SicK was a former CS:GO player and was part of well-known organizations such as Complexity Gaming, TSM, Misfit Gaming, and Rogue.

Sentinels signed a replacement for SicK

As reported yesterday, Sentinels signed a replacement for Sick, Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen, a former OpTic Gaming player. However, the organization has not reported any changes to the team’s starting lineup. As a result, Marved is likely to remain the sixth player.

Marved, in a live broadcast, mentioned why he chose Sentinels as his final destination. He also said he is fully prepared if the team needs him to play at any time. Marved points out that his main reason was that Sentinels offered him more money for the backup position than another organization he was in contact with.

On the other hand, Sentinels won’t miss SicK too much in his absence. Marved may be an excellent fit for the organization. We say this because SicK has been replacing and inactive within the Sentinels lineup since May 2022. So, Marved’s inclusion in this team may bring a much higher level to the upcoming VCT Americas in the coming weeks. Sentinels will debut against 100 Thieves on April 1.
