Scump says he might have left CDL too early

Undoubtedly, we were all surprised when Seth “Scump” Abner, one of the legends of Call of Duty, announced his sudden retirement in January. So naturally, this affected OpTic Texas fans, who were left without one of the best COD players in history. However, in a recent interview, Scump said he probably made this decision too early.

Since his retirement, Scump has been completely tied to CDL, as he wanted to explore his options in a facet other than as a player. However, from creating content for OpTic to Watch Parties at the Majors, this legendary player seemed closer than ever to reverse his decision to retire.

Scump notes that his decision may be coming very soon

Many CDL fans thought that Scump still had a lot of game left in the COD servers, and apparently, he thought so too. In a vlog by the popular content creator FaZe Swagg, Scump talked about his life after announcing his retirement as a player and ended with the words that he may have made the decision too soon.

However, as we note at the end of the video, Scump points out that it is too late to regret his decision and that he will never play again.

Scump moves his fans to his new facet: Content Creator

Scump’s fans have mixed feelings because although they won’t see him in the servers wreaking havoc with his enemies, now they will have him in the transmissions as a commentator, reporter, or caster. But, on the other hand, we can say that these transmissions have been a success because, in the CDL Watch parties, Scump’s channel has exceeded the number of views and viewers of the official Call of Duty League channel on several occasions.

However, we can note that Scump’s answers in the video were also not very convincing or decisive. For example, besides mentioning that it had been a bit early in his retirement, he said he was “bored” in retirement but then mockingly said it was nice.

Scump’s return?

While Scump said he would not be returning to play on the FaZe Swagg vlog, there is no doubt that he still has a lot of talent to show on the CDL servers. That’s why he still has it in his mind that his retirement may have been somewhat hasty.

On the other hand, a few days ago, Scump was a guest on Jake and Paul’s YouTube channel, where he was approached with the same question of whether he should consider returning to go pro in COD or other esports. Finally, Scump answered that this idea had not crossed his mind, but he won’t say he would never do it.

Finally, Scump mentions the very little possibility of returning, but it must be a new game that captivates him and awakens his interest to compete again.
