Riot reveal prize pool for VALORANT Champions 2023

The season’s last tournament, the VALORANT Champions 2023, is a highly anticipated event for all game fans, as it will define nothing more and nothing less than the best VALORANT team of the year. There is no doubt that this will be a historic event, as it will be the first tournament to be played under the VCT franchise system. In addition, we must include that the prize pool has increased considerably, as Riot announced that the prize pool will reach $2.25M.

There is a lot of expectation regarding VALORANT Champions 2023. For now, Fnatic has completely dominated the competitive scene, including the two international tournaments played. However, we have seen different surprises that, without a doubt, make this tournament’s hype grow even more.

Finally, it is fair to highlight that the prize pool of $2.25M is more than double that of the 2022 edition, so we see a big jump by Riot Games and their support to the VALORANT competitive scene.

The VALORANT Champions 2023 prize pool is $2.25M

The prize pool for the tournament culminating in the 2023 VCT season is $2.25M, a truly impressive figure and double that of the 2022 edition. In addition, it is also worth mentioning that this is the largest prize pool to be distributed in the three-year history of the VALORANT competitive scene.

In the 2021 and 2022 editions, the prize pool was $1,000,000, so this amount was distributed among the teams that finished in the best positions. However, in this edition of the VCT Champions 2023, the champion team will take $1M, while the rest will take a big part of the remaining $1.25M.

Below, we will show you how the $2.25M prize pool of the VALORANT Champions 2023 will be distributed:

• 2nd = $400,000
• 3rd = $250,000
• 4th = $130,000
• 5th-6th = $85,000
• 7th-8th = $50,000
• 9th-12th = $30,000
• 13th-16th = $20,000

As we can see, every team will receive some prize for participating in the VCT Champions 2023. If we observe, there are 16 participating teams, so they all receive money for just participating. However, they can turn that $20,000 into $1,000,000 if they are tournament champions.

The prize pool does not include the skin bundle

It is also worth noting that the prize pool is not the only thing players and teams will win in VALORANT Champions 2023. As usual in this kind of tournament, we will have a skin bundle in the in-game store, where part of the proceeds from its sale will be destined for the teams.

For now, it has not been revealed which will be the skin bundle of the VCT Champions 2023, but we had that in 2021, and 2022 were the Vandal and the Phamton, so everything seems to indicate that in the 2023 edition, it will be the Operator. However, there are also rumors that it will be a skin bundle, which would make the skin bundle of this tournament much more interesting.

In the 2022 edition, the sale of the skin bundle in the VALORANT store raised over $16M, divided among all the tournament competitors. As a result, if Riot Games releases a multi-skin bundle, this figure will most likely increase by a lot.
