Riot Games to launch new VALORANT map at VCT Champions 2023

Riot Games’ tactical shooter, VALORANT, has been characterized since its launch in 2020 for having many new features to keep the whole community hooked on the game. This time, everything indicates that the developers plan to launch the new game map before the VALORANT Champions 2023 Grand Final.

This is great news for the entire VALORANT community. In addition to being a new map, we will also have a renewal in the official map pool, so the expectation is growing.

Riot Games will launch the new VALORANT map during the Champions Gold Carpet pre-show event. This event will occur hours before the VALORANT Champions 2023 Grand Final is played on August 26.

In the official press release by Riot Games, we can note that during this “pre-show,” which takes place between August 25-26, everything that will come to the game in VALORANT Episode 7 Act 2 will be revealed.

As Riot confirms on its blog, the new VALORANT map will be officially released next Saturday, so we are about to see if all the rumors in recent weeks regarding the new map were true. Recall that everything points to the new map being a scenario in Los Angeles, so it may be a very familiar map for everyone attending the event.

Sunset: Name of the new VALORANT map

While it is true that there is still no official confirmation from Riot Games, according to leakers, the new map will be called Sunset. However, besides the setting (Los Angeles), there is no information regarding this new VALORANT map.

Let’s remember that Pearl came to the game as a common and basic map, but it adopted a unique 3 Sites design to plant the Spike. Also, if we look at Lotus, we can see that the revolving door gimmick is a feature that no other map in the game has.

Finally, with the arrival of this new map, we will say goodbye to Pearl and Fracture from the official VALORANT map pool for the start of the next act. On the other hand, Breeze and Sunset would make a masterful entrance for the first tournaments of the next VCT season.
