The movements continue in the different esports organizations in the VALORANT competitive scene. With the start of the VCT just around the corner, many teams continue to arm themselves in the best possible way to meet all the goals set for this season.

The popular North American organization, Evil Geniuses is close to completing its ambitious 10-player roster for the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023. However, only one spot remains in the lineup with the latest signing.

EG signs ScrewFace

Through a statement on its official Twitter account, EG announced yesterday the signing of Kyle “ScrewFace” Jensen, former DarkZero Esports player.

This signing, as we mentioned, it brings to nine the number of members of the main VALORANT lineup of Evil Geniuses. Moreover, according to the global contract database, almost all are under contract until the 2024 season.

After Riot Games announced Evil Geniuses as one of its VCT Americas partner teams last fall, the organization revealed the first step of its plan in November. They signed former NRG player Ethan “Ethan” Arnold and former XSET player Brendan “BcJ” Jensen.

These signings were made to build a 10-player team. This pair of extraordinary players joined the lineup that consisted of:

  • Kelden “Boostio” Pupello
  • Jeffrey “Reformed” Lu
  • Alexander “jawgemo” Mor
  • Corbin “C0M” Lee
  • Vincent “Apotheon” Le

A few days ago, EG announced the addition of Max “Demon1” Mazanov, a young up-and-comer with steel nerves.

About ScrewFace

Kyle “ScrewFace” Jensen signed with DarkZero along with the rest of the Kooky Koalas lineup in June 2021, and since then, the player has been part of this organization. But, after the organization did not have the expected success in North America, they decided to leave the VALORANT pro scene in the summer of 2022.

This left the players up in the air and without an organization (most of them, including ScrewFace) for almost five months. Now, we must wait to see the form with which this player arrives in this expanded EG squad. Being a lineup of many players, they must give their best to earn a starting spot in most games.

EG’s approach with this type of lineup

EG’s approach to VALORANT is the same as in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Let’s remember that this organization signed two NA CS:GO teams that had been “orphaned” to complete a draft roster of up to 15 players.

The VCT partner teams cannot have academy rosters, as CS:GO is accustomed to. This 10-player lineup will have to take a different approach.

It remains to be seen whether it will be about some internal competitions, using different lineups to surprise opponents, or accumulating talent to sell to other teams mid-season.

The VALORANT Evil Geniuses lineup is currently as follows:

  • Kelden “Boostio” Pupello
  • Jeffrey “Reformed” Lu
  • Alexander “Jawgemo” Mor
  • Corbin “C0M” Lee
  • Vincent “Apotheon” Lee
  • Ethan “Ethan” Arnold
  • Brendan “BcJ” Jensen
  • Max “Demon1” Mazanov
  • Kyle “ScrewFace” Jensen
