One of the world’s biggest gaming and esports festivals is coming back in 2023. Gamers8 will come to Saudi Arabia in July this year with more than $30 million in prizes.

Gamers8 is back

After a successful debut last year, Gamers8 wants to return in 2023 to surpass the heights implemented in the previous edition. As a result, the Saudi Esports Federation announced that this event was returning with more than double the prizes than last year.

This festival is titled “The Land of Heroes” in this 2023 edition and will be held on July 6. The Gamers8 will last for eight weeks. That is, it ends at the end of August.

Gamers8 will have more than $30 million in prizes.

As we mentioned, the Gamers8 arrives this 2023 with a prize pool that exceeds $30 million. Recall that in 2022 the festival hosted tournaments for five esports titles:

  • Rocket League
  • Dota 2
  • Fortnite
  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
  • PUBG Mobile

The 2022 event was a huge success, as the world’s best teams came out for each esports.

This year, the professional esports scene at Gamers8 will see a doubling of the prize pool. With much more funds and a bigger prize pool, we will likely see a much more luxurious event. However, the tournaments and entertainment program details are unknown now.

Where will the festival be held

Esports lovers who want to attend this magnificent event will have to travel to Riyadh City, Saudi Arabia, specifically to the NXTLVL Arena. There is no doubt that Gamers8: “The Land of Heroes” will be a gamer’s paradise, with renowned concerts, festivals, tournaments, educational platforms, and much more.

The festival organizers noted that the 2023 edition would have a similar format to the 2022 edition. Interestingly, at the Riyadh Masters in Dota 2, it had the highest prize pool in history for a tournament other than The International.

Success in the first edition

Gamers8 in 2022 was a complete success in the esports community, as many fans from all over the world attended. Statistics show that more than 1.4 million visitors participated in the festival.

Moreover, the event was broadcast on popular streaming platforms, reaching a peak of 130 million viewers.

Three hundred ninety-two players and 113 professional teams did not want to miss this event and joined this great event.

However, despite all the accumulated prize money and many other fantastic features that this festival offered, some esports organizations decided not to participate. In particular, we can highlight Moist Esports, a team that did not compete in the Rocket League tournament due to Saudi Arabia’s stance on the LGBTQ+ community.

The president of the Saudi Esports Federation, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan, said:

“The showcase of the most popular titles on the planet will be further expanded this summer. To be honest, when we say bigger and better this summer, we mean it. We can’t wait to reveal what we have in store. “

Gamers8 is one of the most important esports events in Saudi Arabia, with the country looking to strengthen its position within the competitive gaming ecosystem.
