Respawn unveils Apex Legends: The Board Game

Earlier this month, it was reported that Apex Legends Mobile would be discontinued soon. However, two weeks later, Respawn’s production enjoyed record popularity on Steam. In the meantime, it turns out that soon another group of users will have a chance to get acquainted with this exciting brand. EA’s popular Battle Royale will have a board game version.

Developed in collaboration with Electronic Arts, the board game based on Respawn Entertainment’s Battle Royale will be funded through crowdfunding, with a campaign on Kickstarter starting next May 17.

The crowdfunding campaign for Apex Legends: The Board Game will start in May

Apex Legends: The Board Game has been created thanks to the cooperation between Glass Cannon Unplugged (creator of Frostpunk: The Board Game and Dying Light: The Board Game) with Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment.

According to the information, the popular Battle Royale board version will be a competitive miniatures game for 2-4 players. In addition, this will be played in a team vs. team mode.

During the matches, each of the game’s participants will play one of the game’s legends. The game’s main objective will be to eliminate the opposing team. Apex Legends: The Board Game is intended to be accessible to new players and offers plenty of opportunities for more experienced board game fans.

The legends that are included in the game initially will be:

• Wraith
• Gibraltar
• Bloodhound
• Bangalore

The content roadmap for the tabletop adaptation includes legends and a line of modular maps. Moreover, they will also be offered as add-ons and expansions. However, which maps and legends will be added and when is not yet known.

Modular Board

Apex Legends: The Board Game will also feature a modular board. The publisher is planning additions that will increase the number of players and ensure fantastic replayability by introducing new Legends into the game. We will indeed receive more information at the start of the crowdfunding campaign on the Kickstarter platform, which will begin on May 17 this year.

Its games are approximately one hour, and in the first promotional image, we can see four confirmed characters: Bangalore, Bloodhound, Wraith, and Gibraltar. The video game, let’s remember, has twenty-three as of today.

Apex Legends: The Board Game has been in the works for the past two years.
