Undoubtedly, the summer offseason of this 2023 season is proving to be one of the most tense and hectic times in the history of the CS:GO competitive scene. Many teams are making changes to their lineups ahead of the impending CS2 release this summer that is already underway.

Over the last few weeks, many rumors mentioned that different top teams would make renovations for the second half of the season, and there was even talk of changes at G2 Esports. However, the organization has published a video where they ratify that they maintain their lineup despite the disappointing results in recent months.

G2 Esports makes no changes to its CS:GO lineup

Through a video on its official Twitter account, the popular European organization announced that they are keeping its CS:GO lineup intact for the rest of the season and the transition to Counter-Strike 2.

Much of the community was completely sure that G2 Esports would make a revamp in its CS:GO alienation after failing to qualify for the Paris Major playoffs a few weeks ago. Moreover, these are not the only disappointing results the team has had in recent months. The team failed to win another tournament after being crowned champions at IEM Katowice 2023 and BLAST Premier World Final 2022.

Peca denies rumors

Much was said in recent weeks about the probable departure of Danish IGL Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen from his team and the addition of Team GamerLegion’s young IGL Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek. However, the head of G2 Esports’ CS:GO division, Petar “peca” Marković, denied all rumors a few hours ago.

As noted in the Tweet, Peca mentions that they stand firm in their project and keep their confidence intact with the lineup. In addition, Peca also mentions that the team had ups and downs in the last few months, but they accept them and are willing to fix them to turn their situation around. Finally, Marković asks the team’s fans to trust the lineup, just as the organization trusts them.

G2 Esports’ Performance Slump

After being an unbeatable team during late 2022 and early 2023, where G2 won IEM Katowice 2023, the team could not make it to a final in any Tier 1 tournament. The team’s performance started to drop in ESL Pro League S12 when they could not make it past Round 12. Then, the team exits the Legends Stage of the Paris Major with a terrible 1-3 record.

Finally, in their last two major tournaments, the IEM Dallas and the BLAST Premier Spring Final, G2 reached the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.

Now, the team ratifies their confidence in their CS:GO lineup and states they are ready to fight in the upcoming BLAST Premier Fall Groups from July 13-23, 2023.
