Global esports statistics provider Esports Charts has just released its most popular matches of the first three months of 2024.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s power in capturing the mobile audience has propelled it to take three out of 5 most-watched matches for all games worldwide.

All of MLBB’s entries came from Indonesia, of which it captures its core market. The Kingdom’s viewership power is evident as all three MLBB entries to the list are RRQ’s matches.

Topping the list is the Alter Ego vs RRQ Hoshi match last March 30th scored 1.865 million peak viewers and is one of the most popular matches of the season before their break.

The Geek Fam ID vs RRQ Hoshi match last March 31st, meanwhile, garnered over 1.79 million peak views, while powerhouses ONIC Indonesia and RRQ Hoshi’s match generated over 1.77 million peak views.

The historic inaugural CS2 Major finals between champions Natus Vincere and FaZe Clan garnered over 1.85 million views, and is the second-highest viewed event of the quarter. It also is the most-watched FPS event globally for the quarter.

The epic final between Gen.G and Sentinels, meanwhile, rounds out the top 5, with the return of the Sentinels to top form garnering 1.68 million views.

The most popular mobile esports matches all came from one place – MPL Indonesia – and had a minimum of at least 1.5 million peak views.

They also have another factor – the Kingdom effect – as RRQ Hoshi is once again involved.

RRQ Hoshi’s match against EVOS Glory garnered over 1.57 million peak views, while the AURA Fire versus RRQ Hoshi match garnered 1.51 million peak views.

As for PC games, CS2 takes the cake for most number of most-watched games – having 3 entries to the list that all happened during the PGL Major Copenhagen.

Aside from the NAVI vs FaZe grand finals, the FaZe versus Team Spirit match during the Copenhagen Major garnered 1.126 million peak views, while the G2 Esports versus NAVI battle garnered 1.069 million peak views. Both matches are 4th and 5th place in the top 5 rankings.

The Gen.G versus Sentinels battle is the second-most-viewed PC esports event of the quarter and the only Valorant entry in the list.

“The rivalry between the two main shooter games in the industry shows no signs of slowing down: the finals of PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 and VCT 2024: Masters Madrid topped the list of the most popular matches of the quarter among desktop esports games,” Esports Charts noted.

Meanwhile, the only MOBA entry in the list is the T1 and Gen.G match during the group stage of LCK Spring 2024. This particular match got almost 1.2 million peak viewers and is the only match from these quarterly rankings that was not played in March.
