According to Riot Games Southeast Asia, the Wild Rift League-Asia formally kicks off this year in April.

League of Legends: Wild Rift has experienced steady growth since its launch, especially in South Korea, Southeast Asia, and China.

The Wild Rift League-Asia 2023

Riot Games SEA has officially announced the start of The Wild Rift League-Asia 2023, a two-season competition. The first season is expected to begin in April 2023. WR fans will have plenty of esports activity to watch for most of the year, as the two seasons are expected to last eight months.

The event will feature some of the best League of Legends: Wild Rift teams competing to become the WRL-A 2023 champions.

The WRL APAC Open Qualifier is already underway, with many teams from across SEA competing in the event’s first round. Then for the second round, WRL APAC Open Qualifier, the top two teams from each zone will qualify.

Wild Rift League-Asia System (WRL-A)

In the first round of the WRL APAC Open Qualifier earlier this month, teams from Southeast Asia, the Philippines, and Vietnam played. Along with the top two seeds from each local region, two teams from each region will advance to the second qualifying round.

Each local region’s top two clubs will proceed to WRL A1, where the Last Chance Qualifier will determine the winning team (LCQ). In addition, a South Korean team will be invited to compete in the WRL A1.

Vietnam (2), Philippines (2), Southeast Asia (2), South Korea (1), and LCQ are the eight teams chosen for the WRL APAC (1). In the WRL APAC relegation events, the lowest-ranked clubs in the league will compete for the remaining berth. The WRL A1 will consist of three phases: regular season, playoffs, and championship.

2023 Season Calendar

The first season of the Wild Rift League-Asia (WRL A1) will run from April to July, while the second season, WRL A2, will take place from September to December. Throughout these two seasons, which will last a total of eight months, Wild Rift fans will be able to enjoy a host of exciting sporting spectacles.

August to September will be this year’s official transfer period, with a brief hiatus in January and February 2024. Two more thrilling tournaments to look forward to are WRT3 for WRL CN, which will run from April to November this year, and regional competitions for WRL APAC, which will happen from June to November.
