Pokémon GO players are frustrated over Remote Raid Pass nerfs

Niantic has announced updates to Pokémon GO’s Remote Raid Passes, which will cost more and cap players at a maximum of five Remote Raids per day once the changes go into effect.

Niantic has announced more changes to Pokémon GO’s Remote Raid Passes, the majority of which the community considers to be negative. Starting on April 6, 2023, the price of the Remote Raid Pass three-pack will be 525 PokeCoins instead of 300, and the cost of a single Remote Raid Pass will increase from 100 to 195 PokeCoins.

Furthermore, Niantic’s new restrictions only permit three remote passes on inventory and five remote raids each day. To top it all off, in-person 5-star raid participants in Pokemon GO will get more XL Candy than remote raid participants. The daily cap of five Remote Raids could be changed, though, during special events, according to Niantic. Furthermore, there will now be Remote Raid Permits available as one of the monthly Research Breakthrough rewards.

Pokemon GO players are upset over the changes

Remote Raiding was initially introduced in 2020 to reduce the need for player interaction outdoors during the COVID-19 epidemic. Niantic has acknowledged that Remote Raid Passes have altered the nature of the Pokémon GO experience in ways that weren’t intended.

Niantic claims that each of these modifications is meant to reduce the frequency and reliance on remote raids. Niantic’s decision, in contradiction to their intent, has disappointed the entire community.

Although the Covid-19 pandemic has subsided and it is safe to travel, players contend that Remote Raid Permits are still useful in some situations, such as for people who live in remote areas or places where there is insufficient community assistance. Many players in the Pokémon Go community have responded to this news, with some expressing disappointment and annoyance and a few supporting the decision.

A projected daily cap on Remote Raid Passes alarmed many players, who claimed that it would be harder for some players to fully enjoy the game. These players voiced their concerns about the planned adjustments on different social media channels and threatened to boycott the Remote-raid for a week.

In case Niantic goes through with their Remote Raid Pass changes, this is how we can react as a community and show we aren’t ok with their greediness. Join the cause and save money!

In addition to the Remote Raid nerfs some players are now refusing to play the game because of the high price of Remote Raid Passes. Although it’s unclear how these modifications will impact the overall gameplay in long run, they mark a substantial change in how users will be able to access and take part in raids in Pokémon Go.
