OMEGA League: Europe Immortal Division is about to enter its 3rd competitive week. Here’s what the teams have done so far and what you can expect going forward.

OMEGA League: Europe Immortal Division Results and Predictions

OMEGA League: Europe Immortal Division still has one competitive week before the Group Stage is over. But based on what we’ve seen so far, it’s quite obvious who is going to earn the Upper Bracket spots and who will get eliminated. This is the current situation in both groups:

Group A

  • 1st place: Evil Geniuses: 2 W – 1 L
  • 2nd place: Team Nigma: 2 W – 1 L
  • 3rd place: Virtus.pro: 2 W – 1 L
  • 4th place: 5men: 2 W – 3 L
  • 5th place: Alliance: 1 W – 2 L
  • 6th place: Natus Vincere: 1 W – 2 L

Initially, I had high hopes for Team Nigma and Alliance in this group, and was also expecting Evil Geniuses to do well. But Alliance has proved to be in poor shape and even lost to 5men, a newly created team with very little experience in competing as a unit. The individuals are mostly strong players, but it’s hard to understand how a competitor with a lot more experience and a world-class roster can lose when it has all the advantages.

The second competitive week saw Evil Geniuses defeat Team Nigma. Initially, this showed incredible strength on their part, because Nigma is one of the best teams in Europe, even without KuroKy. But then, just 3 days later, EG lost against Natus Vincere (0 – 2), a team that’s far from being one of the best. Na’Vi started the match as the last-place team in Group A (0 W – 2 L). But they somehow won anyway. This goes to show you just how volatile these online matches really are. In a LAN event, this wouldn’t have happened this easily.

Going forward, expect Nigma, EG, and VP to shine. I expect EG and Nigma to be the final winners, but we’ll see.

Group B

  • 1st place: OG: 3 W – 0 L
  • 2nd place: Team Secret: 3 W – 0 L
  • 3rd place: Vikin.gg: 3 W – 2 L
  • 4th place: FlyToMoon: 1 W – 2 L
  • 5th place: Ninjas in Pyjamas: 1 W – 4 L
  • 6th place: Team Liquid: 0 W – 3 L

In Group B, it looks like nobody can stand up to OG and Team Secret. On August 28th, these two competitors will meet to decide the fate of this group. I think Team Secret will smash OG in a quick 2 – 0 match. But who knows? Maybe Ceb really is good enough to outsmart Puppey. It’s very unlikely though, as Secret has been phenomenal all season.

With NiP and Team Liquid so far behind, I think it’s obvious that Vikin.gg and FlyToMoon will finish 3rd and 4th in this group. The big question is: what on Earth happened to Team Liquid? They used to be amazing and just look at them now.
