The Group Stage of the CS Asia Championship is history. NiP is becoming the last qualifier for the playoffs after an excellent 2-0 victory over the local team, Wings Up.

There is no doubt that we all expected this result, considering NiP’s great level in the last few weeks. Besides, there is also the fact that they put up a great fight against FaZe Clan in the first match of this Group Stage, which had to be defined in 5 Overtime and ended with a score of 28-25.

On the other hand, it must be said that the predictions regarding the qualified and eliminated teams were also fulfilled. As we all thought, the only Chinese team that qualified for the playoffs was Lynn Vision, who have played some Tier 1 tournaments in the last months. Finally, TYLOO and Wungs Up Gaming fall by the wayside after losing both games they played in this group stage.

Let’s see what happened in the Elimination Match between NiP and Wings Up Gaming.

NiP annihilates Wings Up Gaming 2-0

What we all expected ended up happening. NiP pulled out all the stops and respected their status as favorites to take a resounding 2-0 victory to seal their pass to the CS Asia Championship 2023 playoffs. As a result, NiP will now face ENCE in the tournament’s quarterfinals on Saturday, November 11, 2023.

The series between NiP and Wings Up was played at Ancient and Overpass.

Ancient

It all started at Ancient, Wings Up’s map pick, where NiP relied entirely on Max “maxster” Jansson and Fredrik “REZ” Sterner to take a comfortable 8-4 first-half partial victory.

Then, at the change of sides, Wings Up tried to perform a collective awakening to see if the team could deliver an unexpected blow to NiP. However, the REZ offense and Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke were unstoppable, leading NiP to the 13-6 victory.

Overpass

Next, the teams moved to Overpass, NiP’s map pick, where things stayed the same as in Ancient. This means that NiP took the match’s baton and won for the second map in a row, scoring 13-6.

NiP started with an aggressive T Side, and after the first 12 rounds, they managed a comfortable 9-3 partial victory. This undoubtedly gave them the confidence and determination to close the series quickly.

Finally, at the change of sides, Wings Up tried to extend the misfortune by winning the first 3 rounds on their T Side, but NiP woke up immediately to win the four remaining rounds and thus take the victory by 13-6.

As mentioned, NiP will play ENCE in the tournament’s quarterfinals for a berth in the semifinals. In addition, the winner will face FaZe Clan for a ticket to the Grand Final.
