In the last update of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone, the developers included improvements and buffs to different weapons. In addition, the content was also included for the Shadow Siege event, which will reveal the details of MW3 at the event to be held this Thursday, August 17, 2023.
However, many weapons received updates in this August 16 patch, so you would like to know if your favorite weapon is included in this list.
Likewise, it is worth noting that the weapon changes are only for Warzone, so Modern Warfare 2 players need to watch for future updates. As a result, some weapons received an update both in Battle Royale, as well as in DMZ and Resurgence mode.
Weapon most affected in the latest update
As we mentioned, last August 16, Activision released a new patch to Warzone that directly affected 2 of the most used and well-known weapons in the game. Moreover, this was just a day before the big event for the MW3 reveal.

The weapon that received the most changes was the TAQ-V, one of the most popular weapons in the Warzone community, which has been completely nerfed. After the August 16 update, the TAQ-V received a decrease in damage at all distances; it also received a nerf to neck, hip, and torso damage.
As a result, we have a really important change in what is undoubtedly one of the most used weapons in the game. Recall that the TAQ-V is one of the weapons in the game since its launch, but a buff in the last seasons made it extremely popular among players. Also, after the nerfing of the Cronan Squall last August 2, the TAQ-V became the game’s meta weapon.
Other weapons that received changes
Another weapon that received a (negative) change in the August 16 update in Warzone was the sniper rifle, Signal 50. However, the change is not as drastic as that of the TAQ-V, as only the damage from shots to the neck and torso was reduced.
Similarly, it is worth noting that most of the weapon changes in the latest patch are improvements for the “weaker” and less popular weapons in the game.
The Chimera, the M16, and the Lachmann-556 in the AR branch received a really important buff. The Chimera and the M14 received a considerable increase in damage to all parts of the body. On the other hand, the new FR Avancer, which arrived in this season 5, was also improved with increased damage at medium-short distances but received a nerf in maximum damage.
Finally, we have that many shotguns and combat rifles (finally) were balanced, plus some improvements to the Fennec 45 and the Lockwood MK2.
