Fortnite is probably one of the most popular video games in the world today. It has also allowed many streaming and esports personalities like Richard “Ninja” Tyler Blevins, Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf, and others to consolidate their position at the top.

Today these content creators continue to make a lot of money playing Fortnite, either through their streams or in official esports competitions.

Is Fortnite a children’s game?

Many people in the esports community claim that Fortnite is a game for kids, which has angered many, including Ninja.

As we all know, Ninja has made his streaming career at the expense of this Battle Royale, so, on several occasions, he has been very angry with those who speak ill of the game.

This has exploded in one of his latest broadcasts on Twitch, in which he made it very clear what he thinks about those people who point out that Fortnite is just for kids.

In short, Ninja has clarified that he disagrees with the comments and is sure that it all started during games like Warzone.

Ninja furious in its streaming

In the clip we watched, Ninja begins with the sentence:

“This is not a kid’s game, man. There are grown men playing this game, lots of them.”

While it is very complicated to verify this information, different reports claim that more than 60% of the Fornite player base in 2018 was between 18 and 24 years old. However, if the same people continue to play, they are between 22 and 28 years old.

In addition, Ninja said:

“Look at Minecraft, bro; so many older people are playing that game now.”

At this point, we can pause briefly because, before the launch of Fortnite, many people claimed Minecraft was “a kid’s game.”

On the other hand, let’s remember that Fortnite was played by some of the biggest streamers in the world today, and, at the time, they have grown men.

That is why Ninja added:

“This wasn’t a kid’s game three years ago, this wasn’t a kid’s game when Dr. Disrespect played it, and Tim played it, and NICKMERCS played it… This was Fortnite, one of the best fucking games ever invented.”

Ninja hints that the comments are due to Warzone

Near the end of the clip, we hear how Ninja, in a hoarse and mocking tone, began to refer to those who play Call of Duty.

“Because CoD put out a really good game for once? ‘I play Warzone; I play a man’s game.'”

We hear and observe Ninja mocking the macho mentality that many gamers have when stating that Warzone is a better game because it is set in a realistic, non-animated environment.

We are in total agreement regarding the last comment Ninja makes:

“We’re playing video games; it doesn’t matter.” “You’re just fucking playing.”

This a wholly misplaced argument. Gamers should choose the video game they like the most regardless of what others think or say.

Also, we can’t forget that a shrinking group of people think video games are kids’ stuff. That’s why all fans, no matter what video game they play, should unite to celebrate each game and its uniqueness instead of spitting up their sleeves.
