The movements in the different teams of the CS:GO competitive scene continue, and one of the most iconic teams in history, MOUZ (formerly mousesports), sent Jon “JDC” de Castro to the bench.

There is no doubt that this move is completely unexpected by the entire community and, above all, by all MOUZ fans. The 23-year-old rifler of Portuguese/German descent is now “inactive” in the squad and is looking for a new home.

No one expected this move considering how close the team is to making other major signings in preparation for the transition to CS2. However, this is just a sign that the teams want to create a solid lineup to look for success in this new era in Valve’s FPS.

MOUZ benches JDC

In the last few hours, the European organization, MOUZ, surprised everyone in the CS:GO competitive scene by sending the 23-year-old rifler, JDC, to the team’s bench.

Recently, there has been a rumor regarding the imminent signing of Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek, coming from GamerLegion, to replace the veteran IGL, Christopher “dexter” Nong. In addition, reports surfaced in the last few hours that OG AWPer Abdulkhalik “degster” Gasanov would be on MOUZ’s radar to replace Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás.

As a result, the team would have the arrival of three new players if all the moves materialize, but let’s remember that these are only speculations. However, there is also a strong rumor that MOUZ plans to promote Finnish Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo from its academy team instead of JDC. Let’s remember that the MOUZ Academy is one of the best teams in that division, and the organization takes the development of its players very seriously. In addition, torzsi, Dorian “xertioN” Berman, and JDC made it to the team’s starting lineup after playing in the Academy.

About JDC

The 23-year-old rifler comes to MOUZ in the 2021 season when he signs to play for the academy team, MOUZ NXT. The Portuguese/German player shined for nine months in the team and was one of the pillars for MOUZ NXT to win four championship titles in the WePlay Academy League.

Then in March 2022, JDC moved up to the main MOUZ team, where he did not have the same success he had on the academy team. While MOUZ has not won any Tier 1 trophies recently, JDC was paramount in his team’s qualification to the IEM Rio Major 2022 semifinals.

Similarly, it is worth noting that JDC’s performance dropped so much since his promotion to MOUZ’s main team that, in 468 days in the team’s lineup, he had a Rating of 0.99, according to HLTV. As a result, the player fully acknowledged his underperformance and firepower in an official statement on his Twitter account.

Now, the task for this iconic organization is clear: organize and build a solid squad in the coming days ahead of the remainder of the year and the transition to CS2. However, the team still has a little more time, as their first major tournament will be at the IEM Cologne 2023 Play-In Phase.
