A new weekend of action and emotions starts in the LEC Spring Split 2023. After two spectacular clashes, SK Gaming and Fnatic say goodbye to the tournament after losing to G2 Esports and MAD Lions, respectively.

The most important League of Legends tournament on the European continent, the LEC, is reaching its last day in the Group Stage, and we have MAD Lions and G2 manage to stay alive in the tournament. With this result, now these teams must face Astralis and KOI, respectively, to look for a pass to the Spring Split 2023 playoffs.

MAD Lions gives a new blow to Fnatic and stays alive in the Split

In the first series of the day, we enjoyed a very exciting match between MAD Lions and Fnatic, which had to be defined into three games. Martin “Rekkles” Larsson for Fnatic and Javier “Elyoya” Prades for MAD Lions gave us a real show.

The Spanish team managed to start the series on the right foot after winning the first match of the series. There is no doubt that Elyoya had an extremely good match and wreaked havoc in Summoner’s Rift with the help of Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer’s Gragas and Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság’s Zeri.

However, Fnatic would not stay with their arms crossed for the second match of the series, and thanks to Rekkles’ Xayah, the orange team could even score 1-1.

After several minutes where both teams focused on exchanging goals, MAD Lions made a huge mistake that LEC legend Rekkles took full advantage of to take the lead. After having some advantage in the 20th minute, Fnatic went practically over MAD Lions and managed to win. With that, the series would be defined in a third map, providing much more excitement and suspense.

Finally, the third and last map was in the hands of the Spanish team. Once again, we could observe a great performance by the lions’ jungler, Elyoya; he was accompanied by Carzzy’s Jinx and Zdravets “Hylissang” Galabov’s Rell. The Spanish star player finished with an excellent record of 7/4/20. On the other hand, Carzzy had an excellent 19/5/8 to keep MAD Lions alive in this Group Stage.

G2 Esports crushes SK Gaming and gives a message of power to their rivals

In the second match of the day, we could see how G2 Esports showed an excellent level of play and, above all, a huge power by crushing SK Gaming by 2-0. As a result, SK Gaming became the first team eliminated from Group B of the LEC Spring Split 2023.

G2 Esports started extremely well with spectacular collective play. However, SK Gaming struck first by eliminating Martin “Yike” Sundelin’s Wukong. But, the Samurai woke up immediately and, thanks to an excellent performance of Rasmus “Caps” Winther with Sylas and Yike himself, they managed to give their team the first victory.

Thanks to the big win in the first match, G2 Esports had a spectacular boost in morale. In addition, the Samurai had only one goal for this second match: to advance as fast as possible in Summoner’s Rift to seal their victory as quickly as possible.

In this match, SK Gaming started by landing their first blow again, but G2 reacted again and returned the errand twice. Then, before the 15th minute, we could see how G2 Esports already had an extraordinary leader of almost 6,000 gold, which placed, without a doubt, the match in their hands.

Finally, G2 managed to strike the final blow to take the 2-0 victory and thus get closer to qualifying for the playoffs. The win was in 23 minutes, and we saw Yike’s Bel’Veth in spectacular form.
