A retooled Yoodo Red Giants Esports is on the way after the team acquired three new players from various MPL pro teams in the SEA region.
Midlaner Hazziq “Stormie” Rizwan – who last played for Team SMG – joined the Red Giants as of January 27.
Stormie had a phenomenal run with SMG – including qualifying for the M5 World Championship and a back-to-back second place finish in MPL Malaysia Season 11 and 12 respectively.
The Mage Prodigy had a 100% win rate using his Lylia pick during the M5 World Championship – picking it 6 times, at no losses. Stormie was also the MPL Malaysia Season 9 regular season MVP.
The Red Giants also announced their hiring of EXP laner Mark “Kramm” Rusiana, who last played for ONIC Philippines.
Kramm, a longtime TNC Pro Team stalwart, was part of the squad that gave TNC its 3rd place finish back in MPL Philippines Season 9. He stayed on with the Phoenix Army until Season 11, and joined ONIC PH in Season 12. However, after a 5th-6th place showing in Season 12, ONIC PH announced his departure.
Another TNC stalwart, John Vincent “Innocent” Susi, has also joined YRG as a Gold Laner. He was loaned to Team Flash during MPLI 2023 and is expected to boost the squad’s knowledge and mastery of the Filipino meta.
The entire YRG squad will be led by veteran coach Michael Angelo “Arcadia” Bocado, who used to call the shots for ECHO and RRQ Hoshi. He also led YRG to a third-place finish in MPL Malaysia Season 12.
