The legacy of one of the longest-running video games in esports history, StarCraft 2, continues, and of course, ESL can’t ignore this legacy.

A few hours ago, ESL announced all the details regarding the ESL Pro Tour for its 2023/24 season. The schedule includes ESL Open Cups that will be played weekly, two ESL StarCraft II online, Regional Masters Regionals with live finals, and the live EPT Championship.

ESL also announced that next year, the DreamHack StarCraft II Masters would change its name to ESL StarCraft II Masters.

ESL Pro Tour

The ESL Pro Tour is the most important tournament in the global StarCraft II competitive scene. Players from all regions of the world battle it in each regional event to qualify for the most important events of each season.

First of all, it should be noted that there will be changes in the regions, as they will no longer be as we know them now. The North America and Latin America regions will be merged to form a new region called Americas (AM). On the other hand, a new region called Asia will also be created, which will be formed by:

  • China
  • Taiwan
  • Hong Kong
  • Macau
  • Japan
  • Oceania
  • Rest of Asia

Finally, the EU and KR regions will remain the same as in previous editions.

EPT StarCraft II Championship

Once again, we will have the actions of the EPT StarCraft II Championship, which will have the participation of the best StarCraft II players worldwide. In this tournament, the players with the best performance during the season will have a direct invitation and the chance to fight for the world champion trophy.
