MLBB: Kelra, K1NGKONG, ex-OMG coaches join ONIC PH

The Gold Standard has landed in Pinoy Sonic territory as Duane “Kelra” Pillas joins the roster of ONIC Philippines for MPL Philippines Season 13.

Through a futuristic-inspired roster reveal on Valentine’s Day, Kelra was revealed to be ONIC’s newest top-dollar pick in a bid to boost its chances of being in the MPL Philippines playoffs.

Kelra, who was part of Smart Omega and Execration in his pro career, was also joined by a host of familiar faces from the so-called “Barangay” (EN: Village): Coaches Anthony “YNOT” Senedrin, Patrick “E2MAX” Caidic, and Abraham “Bam” Unida, the latter being the only one retained from Onic’s 4-man coaching roster in Season 12. Coach YNOT is expected to suit up as ONIC PH’s lead tactician.

Also joining ONIC is King Cyric “K1NGKONG” Perez, who last played for cellar dweller TNC Pro Team. After having uneventful seasons with the Phoenix Army, K1NGKONG is seen as a major boost to the ONIC PH arsenal.

Playing alongside Kelra and K1NGKONG are some of ONIC’s returning players: Jomarie “Escalera” Delos Santos, Frince “Super Frince” Ramirez, Jem “Jem” Lañojan, and David “Boss A” Gamboa.

 

ONIC Arsenals, the ONIC PH developmental team, has also revealed their MDL-PH Season 3 roster.

Among them is former Smart Omega stalwart and gold laner Robert Remar “Hito” Candoy, who has been known as the CEO (Chief Entertainment Officer) back in Smart Omega. While mostly playing as a substitute player under Omega, he went to play for Team HAQ in MPL Malaysia S11 before returning home to the Philippines.

Also joining Hito are Landher “Der” San Gabriel, James “Jamespangks” Mendoza, Jerry “Chovyy” Nicol, Joshua “WAN-6” Fajardo, Jefferdson “KKDOT” Mogol, and Rolando “Flei” Cobarrubias.

The Arsenals are to be led by Coach Matthew “Hjidoue” Caballes.
