Lotus: Valorant’s latest map based on India location

Riot Games unveiled the brand-new map Lotus with a fresh cinematic teaser, giving players a glimpse of how it will actually look when it joins the map pool in the upcoming season.

After several hints posted by Riot since the beginning of the year, the new map, Lotus, has now been officially revealed with a new cinematic trailer. The new trailer offers a wealth of information on the persistent lore between the Valorant Agents. Harbor and Astra can be seen exploring the jungle to find a secret path to the new location, where they discover the new map.

The teaser also showed a huge temple-like building with vivid pink lotus blooms perched on several peaks before displaying the hallway where Harbor and Astra ultimately found themselves against other agents at the end of the trailer.

Lotus is apparently set in India

Considering all the hints dropped by Riot in the trailer and the fact that Harbor was the one who opened he the gates of the ‘City of Flowers” with his ancient bracelet in the cinematic trailer, it is certain that the map is located in Harbour’s native country India.

Every Valorant map is based on a distinct city or country, typically where the agents are from. For instance, Yoru’s home country Japan is depicted in Split with a futuristic setting, while Cypher’s native Morocco appears in Bind’s setting.

Lotus will reportedly feature three bomb sites

While the specifics of the next Valorant map Lotus haven’t been made public, the Episode 6 cinematic provides an overview of its design. The structure of the map, which is seen right before the video is brought to a close, reveals that there will be three sites on the map very similar to Haven.

According to a new leak by popular Valorant data miner ValorLeaks, Lotus will have three bombsites rather than the usual two, which appears to be a brilliant addition to have in Valorant after a long time. On the other hand, it raises concerns regarding the balancing of the map pool because most fans seem to be skeptical rather than enthusiastic about such a design.

Lotus release date

Given Riot’s past behavior, it is extremely likely that the new episode will be released immediately after the current episode ends. The current episode will end on January 9, 2023, according to Riot Games announcements, which implies Episode 6 Act 1 will hit the server on December 10, 2023. However, there is no official confirmation from the developers.
