One of Vietnam’s most popular League of Legends organizations, Saigon Buffalo, announced that it “is for sale” after different financial problems during 2023.

This kind of news, without a doubt, is bad for both the LoL competitive scene and the fans, as everything seems to indicate that the scene continues in the Winter of Esports.

Regarding Saigon Buffalo, the team is completely withdrawing from the VCS, and anyone interested in the organization can purchase it.

Saigon Buffalo announced that they are for sale

Through their official Facebook account and reposted on Twitter by the VCS, the Saigon Buffalo announced that they are for sale after presenting many financial problems in 2023.

In their newest Facebook post, the org stated: “Due to financial hardship, SGB are willing to concede the entire team and the VCS slot for the most reasonable price.”#VCS #VCSEnglish pic.twitter. com/mFO256ganq

In the announcement translated into English, reference is made to:

“Due to tight financial conditions, the organization wants to transfer all VCS equipment and competition slots at the most reasonable price possible.”

In addition, they also shared contact methods (email) so potential buyers could get in touch with the organization’s current leadership. However, it is worth noting that being part of the top competitive level in any League of Legends region.

About Saigon Buffalo

There is no doubt that Saigon Buffalo are one of the most popular and successful teams in the history of LoL in Vietnam. From 2018-2023, the team participated in four international events, including two MSI and Worlds 2022. In addition, along with GAM Esports, the Saigon Buffalo was the only team representing the region in international tournaments in the past 4 years.

However, in 2023, the illusion and regularity ended prematurely, as Team Whales eliminated them in the VCS playoffs.

Finally, it is worth noting that this could mean the imminent farewell of the Saigon Buffalo or Mr. Buffalo, as it is popularly known. Whether they get a new owner before the start of next season or not, everything seems to indicate that we will no longer have this organization in the top tier of LoL in Vietnam. The VCS will have two representatives, as usual in the Worlds 2023, GAM Esports and Team Whales, which we can see from October 9, when the last tournament of the 2023 LoL season begins.
