Developers Jeremy “Brightmoon” Lee and Andrei “Meddler” van Roon have spoken about the points to be improved by Riot for the future after all the controversy at the start of season 13.

There is no doubt that the start of season 13 in League of Legends has left the entire community of the game completely unsatisfied. So much so that the developers have had to apologize for not having met expectations.

It has not been an excellent start to 2023

The start of the 13th season of League of Legends has not been as expected by Riot Games. The developers of this popular MOBA video game have had to apologize to all their players after the cinematic presentation for the new season was a fiasco. A large part of the community, if not all, has been disappointed by it.

Three days after apologizing through a statement on Twitter, Brightmoon and Meddler, developers of the game, have revealed that 2024 cinematic will star champions.

Brightmoon and Meddler address the League of Legends community through the video shown in the Tweet above. The two have explained Riot Games’ failures concerning the League of Legends Season 13 release and revealed some new developments ahead of 2024. Meddler said:

“We planned to have a cinematic like the ones we’ve done in previous years focused on champions and epic moments for the start of this season. We had the budget for it and the right team, but we didn’t get it done.”

In addition, Brightmoon and Meddler noted that Riot Games would invest a lot more time into the MOBA’s technology to improve communication with players. Rio stated in the release of the statement:

“We know we have failed to communicate some things that are important to you.”

New League of Legends gameplay

Beyond a cinematic focus on the game’s champions, the developers announced that LoL would have a new game mode next summer. In addition, they comment on some improvements in the events that complement the new game mode and both ARAM and rotations.

According to information from the developers, the game mode would be four two-player teams facing off in a round-robin deathmatch mode.

However, Brightmoon and Meddler promise that more details will be revealed about this new game mode in March. But, after what was observed with the latest cinematic, the whole community is on tenterhooks and hopes that Riot will keep its promises this time.

Besides, remember that Riot promised that Nexus Blitz would be back by the end of 2022, but this never happened. Riot Games claimed that:

“Parts of the user interface experience were broken by unrelated work on a different part of the game.”
