After Gen.G won the LCK spring season championship, the other teams are looking for ways to strengthen their lineups for the Summer Split. Liiv SANDBOX is the first organization to make a change, and it is the signing of a veteran on the scene, Park “Teddy” Jin-Seong.

There is no doubt that South Korean teams that didn’t make it far in the LCK playoffs or didn’t qualify for them are considering several changes to improve their roster. So, this could be just the beginning of a sea of changes in the middle of this little “offseason” that we will have until the start of the Summer Split.

Liiv SANDBOX announces the signing of Teddy

A few hours ago, the South Korean organization Liiv SANDBOX announced the signing of 25-year-old experienced player Park “Teddy” Jin-Seong, who will replace Lee “Envyy” Myeong-joon.

If a team wants to improve its squad for the rest of the season, there is no doubt that an experienced player who knows the scene well is ideal. Liiv SANDBOX knows that with Teddy, they gain a player who has been successful in the LCK and has the experience to give their team a new face in the Summer Split.

Teddy is widely known to LCK fans, as he competed under the T1 banner for three seasons. In addition, he won alongside Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and company three LCK titles and participated in two international events in the 2019 season.

At the time, Teddy was considered one of the best AD Carry in the entire LCK. However, in an unexpected turn of events by T1, Teddy was replaced by Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong, the current Bot Laner of the Korean team.

Teddy wants to return to the top

After leaving T1, Teddy could not return to his best form and played under the banner of two considerably lower-level teams such as Kwangdong Freecs and Afreeca Freecs. During the two seasons, he only qualified for the LCK playoffs once.

However, Teddy was released by Freecs on November 22, 2023, so he has several months without competing at the highest level.

Now, the player must offer all his experience on the scene for the team to improve its performance in the Summer Split. While Liiv SANDBOX managed to have a great spring season, their playoff run ended quickly. As a result, they were crushed by KT Rolster in the first game with a score of 1-3.

Regarding Envyy’s departure from the team, we can note that it is unsurprising. The player had the worst KDA among all AD Carry teams that contested the LCK playoffs.

Teddy’s debut with Liiv SANDBOX will occur when the competition returns in the Summer Split 2023, which is at least two months away.
