BDS Academy, the Swiss esports organization, has signed four players for the 2024 season of the French League of Legends (LFL). Janik “JNX” Bartels and Tim “Keduii” Willers have left SK Gaming Prime to join BDS Academy, where they will play alongside the French player Rudy “SkewMond” Semaan and Polat “Parus” Çiçek. Steven “Reeker” Chen is the only player who will retain his position.

BDS Academy has injected fresh blood into its LFL team for the 2024 season, after swapping its main and academy teams between 2022 and 2023. The Swiss organization announced the arrival of four new players in a video on Friday, including JNX in the toplane, SkewMond in the jungle, Keduii as the ADC, and Parus as the support. Only the midlaner, Steven “Reeker” Chen, will remain on the team due to his strong performances last year.

JNX and Keduii, who played together last season under the colors of SK Gaming Prime in the German Prime League, are experienced players. JNX has even played in the LEC, the top-tier EMEA league. They both had a successful season, reaching the finals of their local league in the spring and winning the title in the summer. SKP also made it to the playoffs of the EMEA Masters twice. SK Gaming’s academy team reached the quarterfinals in the summer, but more importantly, the semifinals in the spring, losing to the eventual winners, Istanbul Wildcats.

Parus, The Good Catch

The German duo will join BDSA, where they will encounter one of their former opponents, Parus. He won the spring EMEA Masters under the IW banner. The support, in fact, had an almost perfect season, winning both TCL titles, the Turkish league. He missed out on a clean sweep of the EMEA Masters in the summer, losing in the quarterfinals to a certain Karmine Corp. Parus is an excellent addition to BDS, attracting a player who could have played in the LEC. According to Sheep Esports, the Turk was one of the most sought-after players in the transfer market.

SkewMond completes an ambitious roster and will have a new role in a team that is now built to compete at the top of the table. His integration into the LFL at Aegis was successful, but the team lacked consistency. After a promising third-place finish in the spring, Aegis and SkewMond returned to the pack in the summer, losing in the first round of the playoffs to GO and finishing fifth.
