The League of Legends community continues to be in shock after it was revealed that James “Dash” Patterson would not be part of the official LCS broadcasts in 2023.

After this news broke in the esports world, Dash shared the details that led him to make this decision.

Dash started its stream shortly after the news was released

Dash started a stream on Twitch shortly after the news broke, where he began by clarifying that this was not his decision but that of Riot Games.

The League of Legends developers has determined that they do not need a table host for the 2023 season. The host also revealed that the team behind the LCS had not negotiated or even spoken to him before the cut. Instead, they notified him that he was

Dash said:

“The saddening part in all of it is that I wasn’t spoken to before the news,” “After spending a decade, you know, giving 100 percent of myself to something, that I didn’t feel that kind of respect given back towards me in that moment of just having a conversation about ‘hey, we want to make changes, and can we arrive at a decision, that, you know, with you,'”

During the stream, Dash also reported why the LCS would not need a table host for 2023. It’s all due to the new format that will be in place, and the game day changes from weekends to Thursdays and Fridays at noon.

The Dash team continues to work hard to stay involved with Riot Games and its official tournaments. He may appear at some critical moments of the season or in decisive matches, but nothing is certain yet.
