The Chinese Super Server is the most notable and well-known League of Legends server in China. This country, with a population of over 1.4 billion, has many fans of the game, and its Super Server is considered one of the best in terms of quality by players worldwide.

As one of the largest countries in the world, China may have initially presented difficulties for players in the form of lag, latency, and stable connections. But to avoid these problems, the region has been equipped with 29 active servers.

It makes sense for the game’s creators to maintain several servers in the region to provide efficient service to its users, given that the country is the largest market for League of Legends.

Asian dominance in League of Legends

The Korean zone has probably been the most powerful since the game’s inception due to its resounding dominance on the international scene and its continuous production of elite players. Only China, the birthplace of the LPL, has been able to challenge the dominance of LCK (League of Legends Proving Grounds) teams.

Three World Championship-winning teams currently represent the Chinese region:

  • IG in 2018
  • FPX in 2019
  • EDG in 2021

The Chinese Super Server has contributed significantly to top professional players adopting the region’s well-known aggressive play style.

Requirements and eligibility

The Chinese Super Server is home to the highest caliber players in the country, so it stands to reason that several requirements must be met before you can join.

Rules that LoL players must meet to play on the Chinese Super Server

  • A player must rank higher than Diamond-2 on any Chinese zone servers to participate.
  • Players must be active frequently because using this server is a privilege.
  • A player will be immediately banned from the server if they are found to play less than 24 games per month.
  • To maintain the quality level of the server, players with lower scores than the previous month will also be banned from the server.

Style of play in the Chinese Super Server

The Chinese Super Server, where only the best can play, features the most aggressive style of play in the world. However, the type of players present is another factor to consider.

Some of the best one-trick players (OTP) worldwide are in the League of Legends Chinese Super Server. On the other hand, the play style and meta are different from other parts of the world.

The server is famous for its very aggressive play style and endless battles. Players like to engage in constant combat and limit the trials as much as possible.

The player Lee Sin wins dominant games on the Chinese Super Server. However, skirmish champions like him do not represent the general meta.

Iron-Silver players on this server are more than capable of having comparable mechanics to a Master or Challenger level player in other regions. This is because the admission requirement for the Chinese server is Diamond 2 or higher.

The Chinese Super Server is an excellent representation of the authentic LPL style of play. Understandably, professional teams have a reputation for being combative and violent. However, due to their reputation for unpredictability, the players from this region are ultimately fascinating to follow.

Professional players in the Chinese Super Server

Generally, professional players do not usually play on this server. That is unless they are not from China or are looking for a different style of play, especially those who participate in the LPL or training camps in China.

Professional players are often dissatisfied with the quality of solo queues. Chinese super server can easily be classified as a lone tail on steroids. This makes it unappealing to experts primarily looking for high-quality practice.

Instead, LPL pros often opt to play on another server or one frequented by LCK players, the Korean server, which is perhaps the highest-quality server.

The Korean play style is famous for being one of the best macro/micro mechanics for a typical high elo player. As such, the server is much more attractive for high-quality practice time.

Despite this, international pros occasionally opt to play on the Chinese server. For example, the Super Server gained notoriety in 2020. Year in which the country hosted the League of Legends World Championship; due to its extreme saturation of elite professional and solo players from around the world.

Overall, the Chinese Super Server is one of the most prominent in League of Legends. While playing on it has advantages and disadvantages, it always generates intriguing and engaging matchups that keep spectators on their toes.
