The Danish esports scene has seen a significant change as Astralis, one of the country’s best-known organizations, has officially bolstered its ranks with two new players. Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard and Martin “stavn” Lund have parted ways with Heroic and joined Astralis.

These lineup changes follow Astralis’ disappointing performance at the BLAST Fall Finals, where the team finished in last place. “stabbi” has finally left Heroic and joined Astralis after the “blackmail scandal” surrounding cadiaN.

stavn and jabbi leave Heroic

It’s a bold move by Astralis to strengthen with jabbi and stavn, two talented players who previously played for rival team Heroic. The move marks an exciting moment for fans and pundits alike, as both players are known for their skills and impact on the game. Their integration into Astralis could change the dynamic within the team and enable new strategies.

Martin “stavn” Lund made his first steps in professional CS with teams like Tricked Esport. His talent as a rifler quickly stood out and he became part of Heroic in 2019.

Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard started his career with smaller Danish teams and later joined Heroic as well. As an up-and-coming player, he made a name for himself with his versatility and tactical skills.

A new start with Astralis

The decision to make these changes is not unexpected, as there had previously been speculation about possible adjustments within Astralis. With jabbi and stavn, Astralis is bringing in young but already experienced players who have the potential to lead the team to new successes.

CEO Anders Hørsholt made a statement on Astralis’ website and said: “Both have the qualities and attitude we are looking for at Astralis, and with the signing of two players of this caliber, we are taking an important step towards our short and long-term goals. Both players have made it very clear how much they want to be a part of our organization, which along with raw talent and hard work is the key to success at Astralis.””The last few months have been very turbulent and uncertain, so I am very happy that my future in CS2 with Astralis is secure,” commented stavn.”My journey with Heroic, spanning over four years, has been full of unforgettable memories.

In late October, Heroic announced the departure of Stavn and Jabbi. In the statement, the organization claimed that the two had kind of “blackmailed” the organization by agreeing to a contract extension only if Casper “cadiaN” Møller would be benched – however, they had not renewed their contracts after all, giving Heroic an icy cold shower.

Astralis now has the following players in their all-Danish lineup:

  • Victor “Staehr” Staehr
  • Nicolai “Device “Reedtz
  • Benjamin “blameF” Bremer
  • Martin “stavn “Lund
  • Jakob “jabbi “Nygaard
  • Peter “casle” Ardenskjold (Coach)
