After the DPC SEA 2023 Tour 2: Division I failed, Blacklist International changed their Dota 2 lineup by adding Damien “kpii” Chok. This is incredible news for all team fans, as they will have a TI finalist in the lineup.
There is no doubt that experience and winning blood identify kpii, so this addition will be fundamental for the team for the rest of the season. Blacklist International could not face teams like Execration, Team SMG, and Talon Esports in Tour 2, so the organization changed the roster.
Blacklist International announces the signing of kpii
Through Tryke Gutierrez, the BLCK’s co-owner, the organization announced the signing of kpii to the Dota 2 lineup. Recall that Nico “eyyou” Barcelon and the organization parted ways a few days ago, so a spot was available on the team’s roster.

kpii, as we mentioned, is a very experienced player in the Dota 2 scene and, in addition, was a finalist of The International 7 with Newbee, which fell in the grand final against Team Liquid by 0-3. Now, kpii comes to this lineup to bring much knowledge and experience at the highest competitive level.
In addition, Gutierrez announced that Carlo “Kuku” Palad will now play in the position, while kpii will play in position 3. On the other hand, the co-owner of the organization stated that they would not make the same mistakes of the past for the next season of the DPC, so it was decided to make this change in the positions.
Blacklist International retains Division I spot
Although the team has not been able to obtain the expected results, much less desired, they have managed to keep their place in Division I, finishing in fourth place in Tour I and fifth place in Tour II. However, the team could not perform well under pressure and failed to qualify for the DPC Majors. That is why kpii will play a key role in the team’s development for the rest of the season’s Majors.
There is no doubt that this team needed this touch of experience that kpii will undoubtedly give them from now on. However, we will have to wait to see how the player’s adaptation will be in this team that has been together since November 2022, and they are players who have experience in the scene.
Fans of the team, as well as the entire Dota 2 competitive scene, are in expectation of how the 30-year-old player will perform in this new stage. In addition, everything revolves around what the team can do to qualify for the next Bali Major 2023, as let’s remember that the team must finish in the top three of Tour 3 to do so.
