Long-time member of GamerLegion, Nicolas “Keoz” Dgus, has gotten his spot at the team removed following a subpar performance in recent tournaments. The Belgian’s replacement is yet to be announced.

Keoz’s Last Sightings With The Team

GamerLegion was last seen playing at the PGL Copenhagen Major, but they didn’t get in the way they wanted to. The international roster failed to qualify for the tournament after a devastating 1-2 loss to 9 Pandas in the Last Chance Qualifier.

The GamerLegion squad had their hopes shattered, as AWPer acoR was meant to miss the opportunity of playing in front of his home crowd. However, the situation arose where 9 Pandas could not secure their visas in time to reach the capital of Denmark, resulting in GamerLegion getting a last-minute invitation to the tournament.

During this fiasco, Keoz was enjoying his vacation in Dubai, sipping on bubble tea with his girlfriend when he got the call to play. As a result, the entire GamerLegion squad packed their bags to fly to Copenhagen with nearly zero preparation.

GamerLergion began their Major run with a bang, taking down AMKAL 13-8 in the opening Best of 1 match. Unfortunately, their joy was short-lived as they quickly got shut down by SAW 9-13. In this match, Keoz was the team’s top performer, but it was easy to ignore since GamerLegion looked outclassed on Vertigo.

Keoz and the crew did pick up a win from their next match against Legacy, but could not manage a series win against Eternal Fire and Imperial, resulting in a 2-3 finish to be eliminated from the Major.

To be fair to Keoz, the team was not meant to play in the Major, so a lack of preparation could have affected his performance in the event. However, his form has been dropping off in past tournaments since the start of 2024. For many fans, the benching of Keoz seemed imminent, as he was unfortunately seen as the weakest link in most of the team’s matches.

Two Years At GamerLegion Comes To A Close

Keoz began wearing the GamerLegion jersey in August 2022, when he was picked up alongside siuhy and acoR. The team spent most of their days playing in online tournaments, failing to make a breakthrough in Tier 1 competition.

However, GamerLegion made a miracle run in the final CS:GO Major, at BLAST.tv Paris. The stars aligned for the underdogs, as they managed to reach the Grand Final, where they were eventually shut down by Team Vitality.

The future seemed promising for the GamerLegion team, but their two best players, iM and siuhy, were acquired by Natus Vincere and MOUZ respectively. These two players are now playing in the Quarter Finals of the Copenhagen Major.

Together with GamerLegion, Keoz achieved the following results:

  • 1st place at Thunderpick Bitcoin Series #2
  • 1st place at Elisa Invitational Winter 2023
  • 2nd place at BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023
  • 7-8th place at Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2023
  • 5-8th place at Gamers8 2023

The future of Keoz remains uncertain, and the GamerLegion organization continues scrambling to find a replacement for their former rifler.
