TSM shuffle their Leagues of Legends roster ahead of LCS Summer Split Week 4. While the Worlds finalist and an MSI champion Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon stepped down from the main roster with the possibility of retirement, the organization promoted the Academy’s young duo of Alex “Soul” Luo and Tony “Instinct” Ng to the main roster.

Huni, the organization’s star top laner, has decided to step down from the main roster because of a persistent wrist injury, the organization announced yesterday. The 24-year-old player will work with the TSM Head Coach Wong “Chawy” Xing Lei and the coaching staff for the remainder of the 2022 LCS Summer Split, but his position is only temporary while he evaluates his options. Huni’s future plans remain unclear, but whatever decision he makes, he will be considered one of the most talented top laners in League of Legends.

“Due to recurring wrist injuries, he will step down from the starting top lane position; he’ll be assisting the coaching staff for the remainder of the split. Huni has been very vocal over the last two weeks about his desire to help with pick/ban and develop Soul. We believe his knowledge and experience will help grow our young talent.”

To replace Huni, the organization has promoted Academy top laner Soul, however, it’s going to be challenging for the young player to fill in the shoes of Huni, considering his extensive list of achievements.

Huni’s legacy

In 2015, Huni made his professional debut with Fnatic in the LEC, formerly known as EU-LCS. His arrival had a significant impact on Fnatic’s performance, as the team experienced their most prosperous League of Legends season to date. The entire year of 2015 saw them rule the EMEA region, taking first place in both the LCS Spring and EU LCS.

Additionally, he made a significant contribution to the team’s semi-final finishes at the 2015 Worlds and 2015 Mid-Season Invitational. Huni made a name for himself in the LCS in just his first year with the club, winning both of the regional leagues and making it to the semifinals of both international tournaments.

After a brief stay with SK Telecom T1 in the LCK, where he made his Worlds finals debut, Huni returned to the LCS. He won the LCS Spring 2021 with TSM after his return and has remained one of the region’s most popular top laners ever since

TSM current main lineup

Following first three weeks of play, TSM and Dignitas are tied for eighth place and the final playoff berth in the 2022 LCS Summer Split with a record of 2-5. However, the teams have still five more weeks to go before the group stage concludes. In the upcoming Week 4, the team will face Cloud9 and FlyQuest with their new lineup.

Here’s TSM full roster:

  • Alex “Soul” Luo and
  • Tony “Instinct” Ng
  • Mingyi “Spica” Lu
  • Huang “Maple” Yi-Tang
  • Tony “Instinct” Ng
