The organization GODSENT has officially announced the addition of Swedish footballer, Pontus “Ponne” Jansson, as a new co-owner of the organization.

Esports organizations worldwide are experiencing financial crises due to the “esports winter,” but some have gone above and beyond to receive support to withstand financial hardship. Recently, North American organization, M80 onboarded Tennis star Daniil Medvedev as co-owner and investor, while KRÜ Esports got the support of star footballer Leo Messi, who joined the Argentinian organization as co-owner.

Cody “Clix” Conrod, one of the superstars of the global Fortnite scene, joined XSET as a player and co-owner of the organization last month. GODSENT is the newest esports organization to join the ranks following the announcement that Swedish footballer Pontus Jansson has joined as a co-owner.

As part of the current investment round, Pontus, one of Sweden’s most prominent footballers, joins GODSENT. According to GODSENT’s official website blog, Pontus, who is captain of the soccer club Malmö, will contribute to the growth of the Swedish organization with his experience as a professional athlete and a captain of a Premier League team.

GODSENT believes that Pontus, who is a well-known esports and gaming fan notably of Counter-Strike, will be an asset as they are fully committed to driving Swedish Counter-Strike back to international prominence. Godsent did not provide any further information about Jansson’s role in leading the company or about the deal’s possible financial details.

With this move, the Swedish organization continued to follow a positive graph after its return to the scene in 2019. The organization currently has teams competing in various games including Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, League of Legends, Hearthstone, Rainbow Six: Siege, Apex Legends, and Call Of Duty Mobile.

Moreover, the company also created a corporate CS:GO tournament in Sweden called Ideon Games, in addition to signing huge deals with brands like Philips OneBlade, Samsung Odyssey, and Prisjakt.
