Gen.G revealed jersey and theme song for LoL Worlds Championship 2023

The popular South Korean esports organization, Gen.G, has unveiled their jersey and theme song for the upcoming League of Legends Worlds Championship 2023.

The Worlds 2023 fever is spreading at a high pace. The 22 teams from across regions are gearing up to dominate the stage for the ultimate glory of being crowned the League of Legends champion.

As much as game preparation matters, so does aesthetics. After all, who doesn’t want their team to shine on and off the stage with a cool jersey design and a groovy theme song? In this aspect, nobody excels better than Gen.G. They are all set to release a music video for Gen.G’s world anthem in collaboration with music artist “BIG Naughty.”

For those who might not be familiar, Seo Dong-hyeon, who goes by the stage name BIG Naughty, is a well-known South Korean rapper. He’s recognized for his smooth and melodic rap style and is appreciated for his sincere and relatable lyrics. Currently, he stands as one of the most popular figures in the South Korean music industry, particularly in the realm of K-hip-hop.

Coming to the collaboration, the music video will be labelled as “Rock the Cup” and will be released via Gen.G’s social media platform on the 6th of October. As of now, you can watch an official teaser for the song attached below:

This isn’t the first time Gen.G has unveiled a theme song before heading to the League of Legends championship. The tradition started back in 2021 when Gen.G collaborated with Jay Park, an American songwriter and scriptwriter, to create the song “ALL IN.” Reportedly, Jay Park spent time with each player to craft the perfect theme song.

The trend continued in 2022 with “Rollin,” which followed the same theme. Now, for the third time, we have “Rock the Cup”.

According to Gen.G, this song is meant to reflect the team’s ambition to give their all in the upcoming championship. It seems like Gen.G has found a musical way to set the tone for their journey to the championship each year.

Gen.G is rolling out their team jerseys, and this time, they’re teaming up with THE HUNDREDS, a Los Angeles-based brand known for its daring and creative t-shirt designs. The jersey’s theme will revolve around the “White Tiger,” featuring plenty of tiger stripes incorporated into the design.

Gen.G CEO Arnold Hur explained that they chose the White Tiger theme because the team has shown remarkable growth, both as individuals and as a collective. The players wanted to convey that they were not done yet and were eager to demonstrate their abilities on the global stage.
