The emotions of the LEC Winter Split Group Stage continue, and the teams are already reaching their final match to define who will be the companions of KOI and G2 Esports in the playoffs.

Now, the Spanish team Team Heretics’s dream has ended at the hands of the powerful SK Gaming in the match played on February 18.

Team Heretics eliminated from the LEC Winter Split

The Spaniards finished the group stage with a feeling of not having given an extra to take the victory against SK Gaming, as they were crushed in every way and ended up falling with a score of 0-2.

SK Gaming managed to avenge their defeat against KOI in this BO3 of the group stage and outclassed the Heretics. Despite the Spanish side’s efforts, they could not consolidate in the series and finished last in Group A, leading to their elimination from the LEC Winter Split 2023.

First match

In the first game, Team Heretics started completely on the wrong foot and with the feeling that the series was slipping away from them. The Spanish team used the strategies that worked best for them in this LEC Winter Split, but they could not give the chest in the fights.

Heretics fell in the first match against SK Gaming, who had Thomas “Exakick” Foucou with a solid game with Zeri that swept with multiple kills in the 5v5 battles. Although Heretics had some advantages in the Top Lane, they could not capitalize on them, and SK Gaming took advantage to take the first match.

Team Heretics says goodbye to the Winter Split 2023

While the first map generated many doubts for Team Heretic, the second would be a real failure for the Spaniards. SK Gaming came to this group stage with a completely new look after being crushed by KOI earlier. The Germans again have a very high level of play in this LEC and hit the nail on the head with battles that always favor their mainstay, Exakick.

Now, Team Heretic has to write down their mistakes and learn from them for the Spring Split. There is no doubt that Team Heretics’ first Split in the LEC has been a success.

The team led by Marcin “Jankos” Jankowsky finishes its first foray in a LEC Split among the 6-8 places, something entirely positive for a team debuting at this stage. However, let’s hope this will be the basis of a successful career in the following Splits.
