Veteran top laner Noh “Gamsu” Yeong-jin has made an unexpected return to League of Legends, having signed for 100 Thieves Next. The former Dignitas and Fnatic pro will join the newly formed amateur team, having last played the Riot Games MOBA game competitively in 2016.

Gamsu was a popular figure in the League of Legends scene before the South Korean made the switch to Overwatch. Playing for the Boston Uprising, Gamsu achieved great things in Overwatch, before moving to the Shanghai Dragons and later the Dallas Fuel. With the Dragons, Gamsu won the Stage 3 Finals, including a famous win over the San Francisco Shock.

Why Gamsu Is Held In Such High Regard

The 26-year-old is one of the most successful Esports pros to have transitioned between games, making his return to competition even more exciting. With 100 Thieves Next, Gamsu will have little pressure to perform. Meanwhile, the veteran will also be the perfect foil for younger players around him.

It will likely take Gamsu time to get back into the swing of things, however fans are already excited to see just what he can achieve upon his return. Future appearances in the LCS Academy, or even the LCS itself, are not out of the question. Gamsu’s League of Legends career started in October 2013 with Alienware Andromeda, before moving to Alienware Arena and Samsung Blue.

Gamsu made his OGN Overwatch Apex debut in 2016, before switching to the Boston Uprising ahead of the inaugural Overwatch League season.

Who Will Gamsu Join at 100 Next?

Having joined 100 Next, Gamsu will team up with Jungler Maximilian “Chad” Lisitsa, Mid Laner Young “Young” Choi, Bot Laner Tony “Instinct” Ng and Support Alan “Busio” Cwalina. He will work under the guidance of Head Coach Kevin “FallenBandit” Wu, a man two years younger than Gamsu. 100 Next finished 12th at the Challengers Uprising Season 2.
