GamerLegion crowned champions of Elisa Invitational Winter 2023

Team GamerLegion has been crowned champions of the Elisa Invitational Winter 2023 after defeating the Copenhagen Flames with a 2-0 score in the grand final. The European team, which reached this tournament by direct invitation to the quarterfinals, defeated Partizan Esports and Movistar Riders before taking on the Flames in the final.

The Elisa Invitational Winter 2023 was held entirely online and had a prize pool of $25,000, of which Team GamerLegion took home $12,500.

In the three games played by GamerLegion in this Elisa Invitational Winter 2023, they did not lose a single map and perfectly took advantage of the opportunity to be crowned champions. The European team’s top scorer was 25-year-old Danish player Frederik “acoR” Gyldstrand, who performed excellently in the grand final with a 1.27 Rating.

Ancient

Inferno

In Inferno, GamerLegion started the first half identically, with a 9-6 partial victory. However, this time, Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek carried his team and finished with an ADR of 94.3 and a Rating of 1.78.

Copenhagen Flames woke up in the second half and hit back at GamerLegion to send the game into Overtime. Although the Flames had two chances to win the map, as they were ahead 15-13 at one point, GamerLegion did not allow it and equalized the actions.

In the Overtime, the Europeans had a flawless defensive performance that helped them win all four rounds to take the Elisa Invitational Winter 2023 champion trophy and the $12,500.

This was the first Grand Final for the Copenhagen Flames boys, but their talent and great performance throughout the tournament were not enough to lift the championship trophy.
