Female pro Valorant players can now officially register for the biggest women’s pro event for the esport in the Southeast Asian Region.

FSL has just dropped the format of the 2024 VALORANT Game Changers SEA tournament.

From March 9th to March 19th, teams from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam, Maldives, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan will be allowed to register for a shot at participating in the said tournament.

2 imports may be placed in the starting roster, FSL says, but detailed rules will be announced at a later date.

Also notable is how the said tourney is now exclusive to Southeast Asia and other closer nations, as South Asia has noticeably been excluded. A report from VALO2ASIA said that South Asian nations will have its independent circuit, directly feeding into the Pacific region.

“More information about the Pacific circuit is set to be announced in the near future, particularly as the qualifying dates for each region draw near,” VALO2ASIA says.

SEA Stage 1 qualifiers will be an open tournament, with the 8 best teams qualifying for the Playoffs. The open tourney will be in a Swiss BO3 format, while the playoffs will be a double elimination BO3 with a BO5 grand finals. Stage 1 Playoffs’ top 4 will automatically be seeded to Stage 2 Groups without the need to qualify again in July for another open tourney. Stage 1 will run from March 26-29 with the playoffs happening from April 1-5.

Come July to September, VALORANT Game Changers SEA Stage 2 will have a minor format change. An open stage similar to the Stage 1 qualifiers will be adopted, and the top 12 teams from that open qualifier, including the top 4 from Stage 1, will be grouped into three to play a round-robin, best of three group stage. The top 2 teams from each group will then head into the playoffs.

The Stage 2 Playoffs will have a BO3 double-elimination format, also with a BO5 grand finals.

Stage 2’s top 3 teams will advance to the Pacific Regional Qualifiers.

A total of US$20,000 will be contested in both Stage 1 and Stage 2, with each stage getting a grand prize pool of US$10,000.
