FORZE win CCT Online Finals #1

CCT Online Finals #1 finished yesterday and, to everyone’s surprise, the winner was FORZE Esports. The fact that FORZE won this tournament despite racing against 9INE, BIG, Into The Breach, Bad News Eagles, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and other formidable teams is absolutely incredible.

We now know for sure that what happened at the Paris Major was almost certainly caused by the team’s inability to deal with the emotional pressure of the event. Globally, FORZE are currently ranked 22^nd, but they will soon be one of the top 16 teams in CS:GO if they continue to play like this.

FORZE’s run in CCT Online Finals #1

FORZE had to win five matches to claim the trophy and every one of them was against a serious team.

In the first round of the upper bracket, FORZE encountered Havu Gaming and they finished the match relatively quickly: 16-11 on Nuke and 16-11 on Inferno. Then came a series of very tough matches.

The first of them was against Bad News Eagles. FORZE lost the first map (14-16) but ended up winning the next two (16-6 and 16-9). This victory must have felt good because BNE are regarded as one of the best teams in the world. They’re currently ranked 21^st.

In the upper bracket semifinals, FORZE defeated Into The Breach, who are an even stronger team than BNE. The score was once again 2-1 in their favor and the story was exactly the same. FORZE lost the first map but won the other two. Their best player was Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko, who finished the match with a K-D score of 65-37.

In the upper bracket Final, FORZE experienced the first defeat of this tournament. The opponent was ECSTATIC and the map scores clearly show that FORZE were so demoralized after the first map that they couldn’t focus at all after that: 17-19 on Inferno and 3-16 on Nuke.

This defeat sent FORZE to the lower bracket, where they encountered 9INE. The Polish team came very close to winning the first map (19-15) and then lost the second map as well (16-9).

The rematch between ECSTATIC and FORZE went much better for the CIS team. The maps that got played were the same as the first time: Inferno and Nuke. But this time, thanks to the research they were able to make, FORZE won with ease: 11-16 on Inferno and 10-16 on Nuke.
